a love letter for my sweet boy luca - i knew even the day we brought you home that it would hurt, i just didn’t expect it to be so soon. the loss of you is bone deep and soul scorching, i’m not the same person i was when you were here. we will meet again and skip through the parking lot at 1 am, runaway from waves on the beach, and lay on warm concrete on sunny days together like we always used to.

i will miss having to hide butter on the counters, and miss waking up to your big smile. i will miss searching for a cow version of every toy for you. i will miss seeing you in the chair next to me while i worked, happy to just be there.

you are so so so loved. I will always remember us just like this, the best of friends. no matter where i went, there you were. right by my side with a smile on your face.

the good news is i know your brother has been waiting up there to play with you again, and knowing i’ll be greeted by my favorite boys brings me comfort, i can’t wait. see you in the sky 🖤
