Our first destination wedding was in Las Vegas… and we already have inquiries for the next one. ✈️✨

This week, my beauty team and I packed our kits, boarded a plane, and had the honor of serving an incredible bride on one of the most important days of her life.

What started as a dream is quickly becoming a reality, and I’m still in awe of what we accomplished together.

From Oklahoma to Las Vegas, we brought the same calm, luxury experience we’re known for, just with a different backdrop. 🤍

This destination wedding was a reminder that big dreams are built one opportunity, one bride, and one leap of faith at a time.

Las Vegas was the first destination.

It won’t be the last. ✨

For a long time, I thought beauty was about the final result.

The makeup.
The photos.
The “after.”

But somewhere between early call times, quiet bridal mornings, skincare appointments, laughter in the makeup chair, and hundreds of conversations with women trusting me during some of the biggest moments of their lives…

I realized beauty is so much deeper than that.

Women remember how they felt.

They remember whether they felt seen.
Safe.
Calm.
Celebrated.
Beautiful without needing to become someone else first.

You bet. 🤎 Watch me create 8 different looks for a full bridal party ranging in various beautiful skin tones.

Understanding undertones, overtones, and color theory is one of my specialties as a bridal makeup artist.

I especially love taking the time to understand each client’s unique complexion and finding the right combination of shades to enhance their natural features, rather than just cover them up. I even take the time to educate each of my clients on their best shade match, and go into depth on this concept this within my 1:1 makeup lessons.

One thing I take a lot of pride in is the extensive shade range I’ve built within my professional kit. I’ve worked with so many different skin tones over the years, and I truly believe that having the knowledge AND the products to accommodate everyone is an essential part of being a makeup artist.

Inclusivity isn’t a luxury in my business. It’s a standard.

In my book, every client deserves to feel beautiful, confident, and most importantly, like themselves.

Your foundation sponge still has a job. I just wouldn’t give it the first shift 😉

For a quicker application, I start with a dense foundation brush on myself and all of my clients.

Swipe your foundation onto the skin to distribute it, then use a light hand to stipple it. Gently press that blend without dragging the product around. Start with a small amount of product and build from there.

The same technique also works with cream or liquid contour, bronzer, blush, and concealer. Choose a brush size that fits the area you’re working on. @thebkbeauty has a huge selection to choose from and even has them labeled so you know which brush is best for each step.

Then bring in a clean sponge. Lightly press over areas where excess product has collected, especially around fine lines and creases. The sponge will help to soak up any product that tries to settle into unwanted areas.

The goal is to lift excess makeup, not keep adding layers. Skin has texture; we don’t need to emphasize it.

I will always love a soft, neutral bridal look, and I will always celebrate the bride who wants a little color. Trust me, I do too!

My goal is never to change a bride. It is to let her be completely herself, then use my artistic eye to balance her features so the makeup complements who she is, what she’s wearing, and how she feels the moment she steps into the room.

The lip may be the statement, but she is the main event.

On a personal note. Madison,I will definitely be dreaming about your wedding morning for years to come. Your kit isn’t built overnight. And it shouldn’t be.

Build it slowly. Learn what works. Replace what doesn’t. Invest in better products as your artistry, and your business, grows. Trust me, it’s always worth it.

Because every time I invest in my kit, I’m investing back into myself: my artistry, my efficiency, my confidence, and ultimately, the experience I’m able to give my clients.

You don’t need the biggest kit or the most expensive products to be a great artist. You need a kit that works for you, and the willingness to keep refining it.

Buy with intention. Build with experience. Upgrade when it makes sense.

Your kit should grow with you.
