Domestic violence awareness month.
3 years free from the abuse in every form. From financial to physical, mental, emotional. It’s so hard to leave when you’re in it you feel so stuck and hopeless. I haven’t really posted anything because I’m at finally at peace with my past. It still affects me daily and will continue to for the rest of my life but it doesn’t define the courageous, smart, beautiful, meaningful women that I am. I will continue to take up space and continue to smile. As I was told recently by a stranger that I had a “contagious smile” and to hear that without them knowing a single past life of me is how I know I’m healing. You are loved, you CAN leave, you can choose yourself which can be the scariest of them all! You deserve to live, take up space and show the world what you got! I myself am starting to do that.

So I just wanted to make this post to say I’m just glad to say that I came out of this alive and healing. The amount of life altering moments I’ve faced in the past 4 years has really shown me and open me up to the fact that life is too short and I spent it wasting my self away. This year is a personal comeback promise to myself for the rest of my life ,and to the women I was always meant to be but never gave the chance to shine! Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to and build back up with the real ones around you in order to really pull through ! I love my village and he’ll Never put no hands on me again!
