WIEIAD 🍽️ This is what a full day of eating typically looks like for me. I focus on a high protein, high fiber diet. I personally don’t count calories but I weigh my protein with a food scale. I aim for around 130 grams of protein in a day, which is 1G of protein per 1LB of body weight. I try to eat at least 30G of protein in my first meal of the day and eat some sort of fruits/veggies everyday.

I personally don’t count calories because I just don’t feel the need to, but everyone’s health/wellness goals and needs are different. This is just what works best for me and I encourage you to do/find what works best for you and your needs.

As someone who has struggled to find healthy eating habits, I just want to remind you all that food is medicine. We NEED to eat to survive. You do not need to work for or earn your meals. You deserve to eat. Speaking from my own experiences, food guilt is a real thing but remember that one good meal won’t make you, just like one bad meal won’t break you. It’s all about balance, consistency, and moderation.

If I’m being real, I always try to film these types of videos for you guys but usually after breakfast I forget to record what I eat LOL ya girl loves to eat that’s one thing for sure. Let me know if you like these types of videos or find them helpful and I will try to remember to film more. by @kendrajessie

This is your reminder to incorporate mobility training into your routine! Whenever I’m sitting on the ground in a ceremony and I feel my butt hurting or my leg falling asleep, I’ll look around and see an elder and tell myself that I can’t complain because if they can do it, so can I. But for real, mobility is so important for everyday life and to carry on our culture as Indigenous people. I imagine myself as an elder and I want to be able to age with grace. I practice mobility as preventative healthcare, to improve my quality of life with pain-free movement, supporting joint health, and reducing chronic pain. I may not be that old now but I do this for my older self. I want to be able to be an elder sitting in ceremony one day. #indigenouswellness by @kendrajessie

Laughter is the best medicine ❤️‍🩹 by @kendrajessie

It’s important to me to try and learn how to build a relationship with the land and all its elements. They are not just resources, they are relatives. I love talking to the sun and acknowledging its presence, expressing my gratitude for all its medicine. This is a practice I started to incorporate into my life and it brings me a lot of comfort.

I remember this one time a couple years ago, I was fighting with my family and just feeling so angry at the world. I stopped at this park and I got out of my vehicle and just started walking and crying, and while I was crying the sun shined in my eyes but the way it was shining was like it was trying to get my attention and be like hey I’m here for you. I stopped crying and was just like “aww omg hey sun 🥹 it’s good to see you” and after talking to the sun for a bit in that moment I felt a lot better. I think especially in a world that can feel so lonely, it’s comforting to know that I’m not alone, I’m loved by the land and surrounded by these elements who provide so much for me and all of us.
