trust fall is here and i am obsessed!!

i might be leaning into fantasy fall pretty heavily right now, but i made an exception for the queen of young adult romance because there was absolutely no way i wasn’t going to devour this book immediately upon release.

the dynamic between julia and damion off the bat had me smiling to myself like a maniac because the BANTER, my god🤭 lynn knows how to write a yearner and i’m loving the dual povs from her more recent releases so we can get the full experience of how down bad all these boys are.

i really enjoyed getting to explore new york city and its wealthy families through julia’s eyes as an outsider. it was very much gossip girl meets gilmore girls, which i think made this story feel even more quintessentially fall.

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: lynn painter just gets better with every new book, which is exactly the way it should be and why i keep coming back every year. i’m beyond thrilled to see what she does next!!

(also i HIGHLY recommend listening to the audiobook. saylor and aiden are the perfect narrators🙌)

everyone posts their wins on social media, so here are my recent flops🫠

at the end of the day, social media is a performance where we show the very best parts of ourselves and our lives; nothing we share is the full picture of what’s going on, especially with bookstagram, where it’s easy to lose sight of the real human person behind the account. so this is me being open and honest about what’s going on behind the scenes of this account.

i have been going through some slumps where i feel so uninspired and struggle to come up with new content that feels authentic and that i can be proud of. i keep going back and forth on whether it would be better to just start all over with a new account, but this is where it all started and i have created and shared some of my favorite content ever on here.

anyway, i hope you can relate to some of these and most importantly, know you’re not alone🫶🏻🫶🏻

🍂books i would recommend to rory gilmore🍂

in case you didn’t know, at 4:03am on october 8th, rory gilmore was born in the middle of a snowstorm, which means today is her birthday!!

my mom and i started our hundreth rewatch of gilmore girls a few weeks ago (as one does when fall begins) and for the first time i registered when rory’s birthday is. and so, in honor of her incredibly iconic character, i’m sharing 8 books i think she would absolutely devour.

this is my first book by this author, but the second the cover popped up on my feed, i knew i just had to read it! i’m only a few chapters in, but i’m definitely liking it so far.

gravedigging isn’t something i typically find in stories as a character’s career path, but i’m kind of loving it, and it definitely adds to the fall/gothic vibes and seems so fitting for evie’s character.

city of bones by cassandra clare

i first read this series when i was 10 (crazy to think that it’s been 12 years and it still exists so vividly in my mind), and i’ve noticed it’s having a major resurgence lately with the first book in final shadowhunters series releasing next month.

i only ever read the mortal instruments and part of the dark artifices, so i plan to try and make my way through all of the different series this time around!

the academy by elin hilderbrand & shelby cunningham

i kept seeing people talk about the thoroughbreds, which is the sequel to this book that just released a few weeks ago, so i picked up a copy of the academy and it sounded really interesting and perfect for fall.

i haven’t actually started this one yet because my mom and i are planning on doing a buddy-read, but i have a feeling we’ll be starting it sometime this week!

you didn’t think i would leave it alone after the first book in the series, did you??

i actually was more interested in the premise of small town smokeshow at first and almost skipped straight to this book but ended up deciding against it. and if you couldn’t tell from my cowboy casual post last month, i have no regrets about starting this series because i absolutely fell in love with blaire and colt!

but if i thought they were good, i was not prepared for the intense YEARNING between maggie and hunter. the fact that they both spent years wanting each other but denying themselves because of hunter’s complicated past with maggie’s sister, created THE BEST tension.

it was like watching two planets orbit each other for years, just waiting for them to go off-course and finally collide.

i can’t wait for the next book!! i have become a holly renee fiend🙈

happy monday 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

i went quiet on here last week because i became a mom!!🥰last weekend i adopted an 11 week old puppy from my local animal shelter and have been very busy with her at home, which left me with little time to read or create bookish content.

things feel a bit more manageable after crossing the finish line on my first week with the pup, so i’m hoping to get back into the groove and share some of content i’m really excited about!!

my next read is loading…

it might be a bit premature since i still have 40% left in the roommate rule, but i genuinely cannot stop thinking about this book after finishing one golden summer not long ago.

i’ve been feeling like i’m on the brink of a slump, so the hope is that this will put an end to that possibility and keep me steady for the rest of summer and all the books i am absolutely DYING to read!!
