Liverpool actors ! I’m writing a play !

When people talk about the 1980s, they often reduce it to headlines: strikes, unemployment, and political division. But behind every statistic was a family trying to make ends meet, build a future, and keep going.

That’s the world of Life of Riley — Thatcher’s Britain, a Liverpool carrying the scars of decline, and ordinary people doing extraordinary things with very little.

At its heart is a young man on the brink of fatherhood, chasing a better future while holding onto hope, family, and football. Because in Liverpool, football was never just a game — it was identity, community, and pride.

Life of Riley is a story about love, loyalty, laughter, and resilience. A love letter to a generation who were told they had nothing, yet somehow gave everything. #LifeOfRiley #Liverpool #1980s #WorkingClassStories #HistoricalFiction by @kentrileyactor

The complexities of childhood by @kentrileyactor

Michael is a powerful and emotionally rich biopic that captures the essence of Michael Jackson’s early years with honesty and respect. It shows the discipline, pressure, and extraordinary talent that shaped him from childhood, and how that foundation influenced the man he became. The film presents his so called arrested development not as something simplistic or mocking, but as the natural outcome of a life lived in the spotlight from such a young age. What some misunderstood as eccentric behaviour is framed here as a byproduct of lost childhood and immense fame.

At the same time, the film beautifully highlights how holding onto childlike wonder became his greatest strength. That sense of imagination and emotional openness allowed him to access a creative space few artists ever reach. It is made clear that this connection to innocence helped him produce some of the most iconic and timeless songs in music history. His gift was both his blessing and his burden.

Jaafar Jackson delivers a subtle, controlled, and deeply committed performance. Taking on the role of the most famous man in modern music is an enormous challenge, yet he makes it feel effortless. The restraint and natural presence he brings to the character make the performance even more impressive, and it deserves serious recognition.

On a personal note, Michael Jackson was my single biggest inspiration in choosing the turbulent road of show business. Being reminded of his journey in such a bold yet poignant way made this one of the most rewarding movie experiences I have had in a long time. The film feels like a celebration of true talent, and a quiet but clear reflection on the impact of abusive parenting and pressure on a child. by @kentrileyactor

Shooters-2001

The grit and dirt are almost tangible, you can feel them under your skin. The air reeks of energy, poison, deceit, and aggression, a stench you can practically taste. It collides with a wall of white noise made up of late-90s dance music and sudden, chaotic violence. Cocaine mixes with gunsmoke and greed.

All of this is what makes Shooters, directed by Dan Reed, such a brutally authentic experience. The film stands as a stark, unflinching depiction of low-level crime and retribution in Liverpool at the dawn of the new millennium.

The performances, delivered by then non-actors, perfectly capture a social landscape demanding to be seen and heard, a city pushing back against neglect with noise, movement, and violence. Shooters becomes a summation of decades of hustle and blind necessity, a cult classic that wears the city’s scars openly, exposing the damage done years earlier and the cycles that followed. by @kentrileyactor
