If there’s one thing this week has reminded me, it’s that growth doesn’t happen when life is easy, it happens when you’re willing and able to step into the moments that challenge you.
As I’ve stood on this Miss South Carolina Teen stage, I’ve carried more than a title with me. I’ve carried every conversation, every story, and every reason behind my Community Service Initiative. Love Shouldn’t Hurt- Kenzie KARES is more than just an initiative, it’s millions of young people’s stories I strive to change. Being an advocate for teen dating violence isn’t something I leave at home when I take off a crown. It’s a purpose I carry with me every day, and this week has only strengthened my commitment to making sure every teen knows that love should never hurt.
There have been moments this week that pushed me outside my comfort zone, moments that have brought me more joy than I can express, and moments that reminded me why I started this journey in the first place. Through it all, I’ve learned that confidence isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about showing up when you don’t.
I can’t help but think about how grateful I am for every step that brought me here. Every lesson, every setback, every victory, every person who believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself.
This week isn’t over yet, but my heart is already so full. Full of gratitude. Full of purpose. Full of hope. And I am more than willing and able to use my voice, serve others, and continue proving that one conversation, one act of kindness, and one person can make a difference.

One of my favorite parts of Miss South Carolina Teen week has been learning from the American Heart Association about the importance of CPR and how being prepared can truly save a life. ❤️
Thank you to the American Heart Association for sharing your knowledge and reminding us that a few minutes of action can make all the difference in an emergency.
A special thank you to @sarahkaywrenn for raising awareness for heart health with her Heart Strong Initiative, it truly is such an important part of this experience. Through this initiative, delegates are encouraged to learn life-saving skills, promote heart health, and use our voices to make a difference in our communities. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of something that goes far beyond the stage.

Leadership isn’t always standing in front of a crowd or holding a title. Sometimes, leadership is using your voice to start conversations that matter.
Throughout my year as Miss St. George’s Teen, I have had the opportunity to advocate for my Community Service Initiative, Love Shouldn’t Hurt: Kenzie KARES: Kindness, Awareness, Respect in Relationships, Education, and Safe Dating. Whether speaking with students, sharing resources on social media, or raising awareness about teen dating violence, I have learned that leadership means being willing to stand up for others and address difficult topics.
One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been encouraging young people to recognize their worth, set healthy boundaries, and understand the importance of respectful relationships. If even one person feels empowered to seek help, support a friend, or make a positive change because of these conversations, then every effort has been worthwhile.
Leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room, it’s about using your voice to make a difference. 💙👑
