Tussock Traverse - An exploration of New Zealand club ski fields. 🔗 in bio. The Clubbies are some of the most challenging technically inbounds ski and snowboarding and when the sharks are showing and the snow line fades away before bottom in the heart of the season it becomes that much more of an experience. A trip back to the homeland for @rileybathurst A home away from home for @kenzbathurst and meeting up with local @bencomber filmed on location @mtolympusnz & @craigieburnvalley on the @chill_explore pass. Visiting Mt Olympus has always been one of my favorite places when coming back to New Zealand. If you have not skied or heard of the club fields make a point to add this place to your bucket list.

Chill Passes at www.chillout.co.nz is a great way to budget for a tip if you plan on visiting or staying at any of the clubbies with 5 and 7 day travel passes available. Full passes for a season if you are keen too.

The biggest challenge is learning the nutcracker system. Be prepared to get humbled no matter how expert of a skier you are.

The tow belts can rented at each mountain, however if you are planning reoccurring trips and want a comfortable system owning a harness really changed the game for me and I’m happier to own a kit that fits my body these days.

Onward to more mountains as we are getting a few more storms this week.

Not much is left up there but just enough for a little 4th of July ski.

That brings the monthly total to 117. See you next month for some more snow adventures.

Unexpected run ins with @g_radical22 who joined in a lap. And trail friends from Mānuka’s besty Teddy and his parents @blacklambx and @horsiedoodle

Missed the chute came for the low angle seconds. Ran into two separate groups of people on the same ski plan too.

About two weeks too late for a proper ski down the face but checked off June turns for the year.

The skiing has been too fun to miss lately.

Thanks for a great season @palisadestahoe

Now to look at all the things I’ve put off since December.

Where did all the time go?

The winter that just kept trying.

Props to @palisadestahoe for really making the most of it. Holding out close to two months past when everyone else closed for the year.
Woodchips and Beach days in March, Spring skiing in February, and Magic Carpet laps for all of December.
