POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’m very pleased to announce my new album ‘In Furnace’ will be released by Chinabot on September 29th.

🪔

This record’s taken me some time to figure out, learning new instruments, relearning instruments, trusting intuition and absorbing myself in the little mistakes and the broken notes. And I think more importantly emerging from the noise and embracing musicality that I normally eschew.

The record was first sketched out in Capel-y-Graig, played out live, demoed in Andrew’s studio, taken to Bidston Observatory and finally sculpted back in the Consulate with the help of Jacob and Simon.

Big thanks for Avi, Andrew, Jacob, Laura and Simon. And thank you Saphy for helping me through the final stage and making some lovely artwork to accompany.

There’s no overriding theme or concept, but the emerging feeling for the record to me at least is languorous heat…

We live among the ruins and find solace in the repurposed remains.

Experience @jennkirbym “digital surrealism” on OCTOBER 18th opening for @beamsplitterduo @metalliverpool

“a sonic meditation on the fleeting temporality of embodied existence” Jenn Kirby’s work focuses on the interaction between sound, the body, technology, and space, in the design and use of wearable musical instruments.

Absolute dream of a long weekend at @fullof.noises with @emergencychorus

Thanks to Amy, Glenn and Larry for hosting us (and for the delicious food!), taking us to Walney Beach for some combing and giving us space to explore performing-listening

In the workshop we staged a series of readings to perform to through deep listening, improvised soundtracking with objects and instruments, vocalising, directed cues, drinking tea and reading heterophonically.

Huge gratitude to Ben and Clara for working through a load of ideas with me, and all the participants who joined the workshop, it felt really special <3

Also cheers to @arcoarcoarcoarco and @raleighchapel for mentoring and space to develop ideas with me, hugely appreciated!

Let's do another one of these - if you are interested in staging something like this with me please reach out 📨 by @keplamusic
