If you know me, you know G.E.M. is all about helping children discover the greatness that’s already inside them and creating opportunities for it to shine.

That’s why being part of the Seeds of Greatness Expo meant so much to me.

I had the privilege of interviewing some amazing young entrepreneurs (and yes…I was one proud mommy watching my own boys at their booth too! ).

One of my favourite parts was listening to people as they walked around the expo. So many came to support the children…but left genuinely impressed by them.

It was such a beautiful reminder that greatness isn’t something we put into our children. It’s already there. Sometimes they just need a platform.

If these young people are any indication, I’d say the future of Jamaica is in very good hands.

A big thank you to Fellowship Tabernacle for putting this expo on and allowing G.E.M. to be a part of it.

Don’t shrink back to “normal.”

I took my boys (7 & 9) to volunteer in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. It wasn't easy but I'm glad they went.

I want to encourage parents to get their children involved in serving others while they're young - they can still make a difference!! Plant the seeds early and watch how it changes them and how they change the world!!

Start small - helping around the house, in the community...anywhere really. Just start. Remember, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."

We're not just raising children, we're raising the leaders of the next generation. Who they become depends heavily on what we deposit in them now.

Devotions with my boys can be chaotic!!!
It’s very different from my personal devotions and I guess it has to be but oh my goodness!!

I’m having to learn to let go of what I think this time should look like and focus on ensuring that my boys are getting the message in a way they understand. It doesn’t mean that there won’t be a time to focus on order or ‘time and place’ but at this time, in this place, my goal is to have them enjoy engaging in the process of learning about God and wanting to spend time with Him… even if it means asking tons of questions, in unconventional positions (upside down, headroom etc) and with many, many wrestlers😂☺️

Trust is built one small action at a time!

Luke 16:10 reminds us: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” That means when we help our kids be faithful in small things, we are preparing them for bigger responsibilities later in life!

Try this today:
✅ Give your child a small responsibility and encourage them to do it without being reminded.
✅ When they follow through, praise their effort!
✅ Ask them, “Why do you think trust is important?” and start a conversation about keeping their word.

Honesty isn’t just about telling the truth—it’s about building trust!

Proverbs 12:22 tells us: “The Lord detests lying lips, but He delights in people who are trustworthy.” That means when we teach our kids to be honest, we’re helping them grow into people God is proud of.

Try this today:
✅ When your child tells the truth, praise them for being honest.
✅ Share a time when you had to admit a mistake and what you learned from it.
✅ Ask your child, “Why do you think honesty is important?” and start a conversation!
