Come From Away opens tomorrow night at North Shore Music Theatre. What these beauteous actors have accomplished in the past couple of weeks is astonishing. This is a show about community, and they’ve built a beautiful one here. Gander is a gift that keeps on giving, even behind the scenes: many of my fellow coaches are working on different productions of CFA around the country; we’ve all been sharing resources, thoughts, recordings- the generosity is strong. I am grateful to @sonaleebhardwaj @notatallquiet @michaeldeanmorgan @sammigrant90 & Lauren Roth. And especially to @kpchill2211 & @chappy423 for bringing me back to @officialnsmt . TBT to Forbidden Broadway, a dream come true directed & created by the one and only #gerardalessandrini . Who knew it would lead to a new sibling, baby brutha @billcoynespeaks , plus my hilarious dear ones @themiagentile & @leaningtowerofpisano . We were thick as thieves and could not have loved and laughed with each other more. I’ll post some group hilarity soon, but for now here is some of the bucket list ridiculousness I got to do in NY at @the_gateway . Bless @spencerclouse & @ybles22 and the late 😿 great Robbie Feldstein for keeping our $#!T together. Fuhbiddn BridWAY forevah!

Your redhead actress/accent coach is leveling up. Doing my MFA at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London. Jennifer Saunders & Dawn French met at Central, so it felt like the right move. Other Alumni: my beloved Natasha Richardson, my husband Gael Garcia Bernal, Laurence frickin’ OLIVIER, Andrew Garfield, Kit Harington, Patsy Rodenburg, Jill McCullough, Catherine Tate, Riz Ahmed, Vanessa Redgrave, Martin Freeman and some lady named Judi Dench. Behind on posting about badass women in my life & their fabulous performances.
1-Run to see bestie/client Camille Chen tearing it up in Eureka Day at Pasadena Playhouse. (And to think she questioned even doing the audition! Always go for it, peopllle!!) Witness her slay for two more weekends! So proud 🥹 !!!
2-The luminous & alluring Paten Hughes going head-to-head opposite Robert Sean Leonard in Interview in London- cross your fingers you get to see this one in NYC. We haven’t seen each other since being in James Calleri’s acting class pre-pandemic!
3-And most belatedly, you can frequently catch the hilarious Tiff Stevenson on stage here in the UK. She slayed hosting at The Comedy Store earlier this summer. Here we are meeting in person for the first time! Previously all our meetings were on Zoom prepping her in her Romanian hotel room for the film Slotherhouse 😹.

I am surrounded by talented beautiful women and I celebrate and marvel at them. Brava, ladies!!!

OK, I’m firing ALL OF US for not knowing/talking about this.
HOW ON EARTH has no one told me about THE Judy Garland’s Oscar nominated performance as a shell-shocked German woman in ‘Judgement at Nuremberg?’
I.
AM.
SHOOK.
We know of her legendary status as woman with a voice from the gods, Dorothy, tragedy, Liza, etc. But how did Hollywood during her lifetime and her legacy following not SCREAM about this performance???
She is serving GERMAN ACCENT. She is serving Trauma with a capital T. She is serving pathos. This is a GORGEOUS, embodied performance. RUN, don’t walk. Here’s a snippet. I’m dead.
