✈️ Exciting news for London and Southwestern Ontario!
I was pleased to attend today’s announcement at London International Airport as Porter Airlines unveiled five new year-round nonstop routes from London (YXU) to Halifax, Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa and Montréal, beginning in spring 2027.

This is a major step forward for our City and will make travel much more convenient for families, businesses and our entire community.

A huge thank you to everyone who worked behind the scenes and helped make this happen. Your vision, collaboration and commitment to strengthening air service in Southwestern Ontario are truly appreciated.

Congratulations to Porter Airlines, London International Airport, and everyone involved in bringing these new connections to our community! 👏✈️

Today, I had the privilege of visiting the @halalfoodbankcanada and learning more about the incredible work Amna Saleem and her team are doing every single day.

They put their hearts into making sure people who are struggling have access to food, support, and, most importantly, dignity.

The Halal Food Bank proudly provides halal food for those who need it, while opening its doors to people from all faiths, backgrounds, and walks of life. Because when someone is hungry, what matters is that they are there for them.

My office is incredibly grateful to know that Amna and her team are just a phone call away when we meet seniors, families, and individuals who need a helping hand.

What I witnessed today was more than a food bank. It was compassion in action. A place where people are welcomed, cared for, and reminded that they are not alone.

Thank you to the entire team at Halal Food Bank for the love you pour into this work every day.

When we take care of one another, our whole community becomes stronger. ❤️

On World Teachers’ Day, I want to recognize the teachers who give so much of themselves every day. 📚

As a former educator, I know teaching is far more than a job. It takes patience, compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to our students.

Teachers deserve more than appreciation once a year. They deserve respect, meaningful support, proper resources, and policies that recognize the realities they face.

To all educators, past and present: thank you. Your work matters, your voices matter, and you deserve to be valued. ❤️

Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today, October 4th, we recognize the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people, also known as Sisters in Spirit Day.

Today is a day to remember and honour the lives of those who have been lost and to stand with families and communities who continue to seek justice, answers, and healing.

We must continue to listen, learn, and take meaningful action to help address the violence faced by Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people.

We remember. We honour. We stand in solidarity. There can be #NoMoreStolenSisters. 🧡 by @kernaghant

Today on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember the children who never made it home, and we honour the survivors, their grieving families, and communities.

But today needs to be more than simple remembrance. We need action, supporting communities searching for missing children, supporting survivors, healing, protecting, and confronting residential school denialism.
And here in Ontario, we can do our part.

Respect First Nations rights, support Indigenous languages and land-based education, and fulfill Ontario’s outstanding Truth and Reconciliation commitments.

Truth matters. Survivors matter. Today, we remember and we recommit to action. by @kernaghant

Last night, I joined our community for Take Back the Night, standing together against violence and in support of women and survivors.

We all have a responsibility to speak up, to challenge violence and inequality, and to create communities where everyone can feel safe, respected, and supported. Silence cannot be the answer.

Real change happens when we show up, listen, support one another, and take action, not just tonight, but every day.

Thank you to everyone who came together this evening and to the organizations, advocates, and community members who continue this important work.

Together, we can build a community where safety is a right, not a privilege.
