My current read. I wholly recommend any person of color read this! Like those colonizers used to eat us, use our skin and hair for furniture! Used out babies as alligator bait -raped, pillaged, exploited and im supposed to just “trust yall” you are the s of your ancestors! - my level of trust these days is sooooo low! Like it’s literally a 50/50 chance im dealing with a MAGA racist! Thats scary. I dont feel safe. You might be cool, but yo papi and grand papi wish me harm! You grew up around folks that made racist jokes, your grand Papi threw rocks at Ruby Bridges - who is the same age as my dad and has a TikTok account! Put that in perspective. Casual reminder - im not from here lol. I’m one of those scary , dirty “aliens” that eats cats and dogs or whatever- this current admin hates. I feel like I’ve made some very positive contributions to this place. Growing up with both American and trini culture shaped who I am. I feel like I got the best of both worlds. I didn’t know the “n word” til I immigrated here. Never heard it. Remember the first time it was directed at me. That led me down a rabbit hole of learning the history. To my FBA folk - just know - the sacrifices and work you put in made my life possible- so it only makes sense to stand in solidarity. I’m both Trinidadian,American,African and that’s such a rich mix of cultures to explore and examine as an artists. by @kernyboydraws

I’ve seen and met Jay-z more times than I can count! First time randomly in a bathroom at work when I worked at BET and he asked for the 4 digit code for the door and I was heading the same way lol. I love this town! I swear! I have the most random exchanges that inspire me! Was working on the @harborcantinanl mural tonight - this young lady saw me working - came by to compliment the work - then gave me these wise words. This is my painters apron. Wear it all the time! Tomorrow - it’s just detail, final clean up, brush work, and removing the doors! @harborcantinanl thanks for being incredibly patient with me! 100 degree weather, 3 days of heavy rain… and outside - yeah no lol. But we git it in~! Just gotta add some flourishes and final touches - i aint gonna lie -it’s REALLY FUGGING cool to walk down Bank Street New London and everywhere you frequent has a bit of your art! The owners are adding lights to illuminate at night. I used day glow paint so under a black light it’s gonna look amaze balls! Thank you New London for the CONSTANT support!
