Blog 2026-21
PARIS

👉 Wednesday Sept 23, 🕔20:00, Paris
at Atelier Rue Française [3, rue française]

🏚️Last year I was a resident in Meudon (close to Paris), in the house of the architect Theo van Doesburg. I was there in summer 2025. I practiced, worked on my upcoming solo album, invited friends, colleagues and family and went to many (mainly small) museums. I made a ‘highlight’ of stories, which can be found still on this Instagram-account.

🎶About the collaboration for the upcoming concert:
I already started to work in duo with KERWIN ROLLAND but I also visited a clarinet colleague in 2025: SYLVAIN KASSAP.
With Kerwin I have already recorded some tracks (can be found on my soundcloud channel) and we performed in the Netherlands.
With Sylvain it will be a premiere to play for an audience.

For this event I will bring two different clarinets: basset horn & contrabass clarinet.

The duo with Kerwin Rolland is based on the real-time recording and transformation of the clarinet, and improvisation using various electronic systems. I will play the basset horn.
With Sylvain Kassap I’ll do an improvisation for two contrabass clarinets.

This evening is dedicated to improvisation and members of the clarinetfamily – both acoustic and enriched by the electronic soundworld.

We hope to see you! À très bientôt !

🌍Multiple Voices from Nature
Fri 17 Oct | 20.15 – 21.15 | Korzo

Performers @katharinagrosscello @fie_schouten @kerwinrolland

Did you know the bass clarinet has its own festival? This chameleon of sound can solo, accompany, and blend with voice, strings or electronics—like a jukebox full of extraordinary colors. For the 5th edition of the Bass Clarinet Festival, we will transforms into a living soundscape with three fascinating works:

🎼 Janco Verduin – From dusk till dawn: the hidden world of Pipistrellus Pipistrellus. Hear swifts at sunset and bats under the moon, recreated through bass clarinet, cello, and electronics—mixing neuroscience with theatrical music.

🎼 Peter Jakober – Werk. A hallucinatory soundscape where live and recorded sounds intertwine, making you question what you hear and where it comes from.

🎼 Kerwin Rolland & Fie Schouten – Multiple Voices. Field recordings, live electronics and acoustic instruments blur together in a piece created during a Paris residency this summer.

☘️In the spirit of World Nature Day (Oct 3), come listen to the multiple voices of our natural world—translated into music you can feel deep in your core.
