this is a creek and these are the dog days and this is growing out my hair and this is the first night of a 40 day tour and these are cool bodies of water and scrappy critters and festival stages and succulent fruits and blooming succulents and this is growing up and growing in and out and back again only to find you are still the kid with big swishy pants and this is a run on sentence at a full on sprint and this is proof of life by @kessjallen

surprise ♾️

last summer, on our 7 year anniversary, John and i proposed to each other. we picked out cheap vintage rings and backpacked up a remote ridge in the high sierras: snappy winds, teary smiles, and just us and a breathtaking view. we took photos on disposable cameras before plunging into the pristine mountain lake below.

nearly a year has passed, and this saturday, we are getting married. we’ll be with our grandparents, parents and siblings down the road from where we first met (16 years ago!) among the giant trees of cazadero, california. as i type this now, i think it all couldn’t be more fitting; for the brimming love i have for John is redwood strong, alpine lake electric, and the closest thing to life’s spiraling magic i know.

this will be my last JK show til the fall. i’ll be slinging vinyl, cassettes, hats, debut a new song or two, u name it. link in m’bio taken in Juneau, Alaska by @kessjallen
