Advice Every Young Athlete Needs to Hear 🎓🏈

Kevin Greene (@kevin.greene ) drops timeless wisdom for the next generation of athletes—and it’s not just about the game.

💡 “You think four years is long? It’s not. You're only a freshman on varsity for 12 games. That’s it.”

Whether you’re in high school, college, or chasing big dreams, Kevin reminds us to value time, build real relationships, and think beyond the field. Because when it’s all over, what will people remember about you?

This message is one every young athlete—and student—needs to hear.

The Harsh Truth About the NFL 🏈💡

Most people dream of playing in the NFL, but few realize the reality behind it. Kevin Greene (@kevin.greene) shares a powerful lesson he learned at USC:

🔥 "The NFL doesn’t stand for National Football League… it stands for Not For Long."

For most players, the league is just an experience—only a handful like Tom Brady & Drew Brees make it a career. The rest? They have to figure out what’s next before the lights go out.

💭 "You want to be a part of the NFL… but the NFL doesn’t want to be a part of you."

Kevin opens up about the identity crisis athletes face after sports and why education & networking are just as important as talent. 🎙️

At some point the ball is going to stop rolling and you’ll be faced with the reality of being called a “former athlete”.

You should NEVER let your sport define who you are, but as an athlete you’d be a fool to think that having your name attached to some sort of sport entity doesn’t come with a certain cachet or create a sense of belonging. Figuring out life after sports can be an EXTREMELY scary road. It took me almost 3️⃣ years to accept that my journey (starting @ age 6️⃣) had come to an end. I know guys that retired 🔟 season ago and are STILL overcoming that battle.

The only thing that helped me was having OPEN conversations with athletes that were going through the same process. DM me if you or someone you know is going through this athlete identity crisis because it’s a scary ass place when you hang that towel up for the last time…..

Fly high 99, you were a great teammate but an even better friend. I hate that your death was the reason people came together. I hate that your death was the reason teammates called one another. I hate that your death is the reason I’m even making this. I’ll never forget the first time we met in the locker room you told me that you’re the reason the 49ers signed me 😂😂 you’ll be missed my brother. 9️⃣9️⃣ by @kevin.greene
