The Superpredator Theory coined by political scientist, John J. Dulilio Jr. in 1995 claimed that a growing population of "urban youth" driven by moral poverty would go on to commit brutal crimes without remorse. The theory became concretized into policy, ideologically weaponized in the media and is primarily responsible for many Black boys receiving prison sentences under the age of 18 post 1996 into the 21st century. The theory was later discredited but notice that is was never rephrased as pseudoscience in various journals and publications. Just another piece of history meant to be swept under the rug with America's remaining dust particles. Sources/References: Bogert, C., & Hancock, L. (2020, November 20). Systems over people? Not on this record. With THE BLACK BOX, @kevinanglade11 uses rap’s deep roots in social critique to break down capitalism, colonialism, and systemic inequality, all while keeping human stories front and centre. Handled entirely by Anglade as songwriter, producer, engineer, and mixer, the album’s hands-on vision creates a raw, cohesive narrative experience. The beats serve the bars, letting the message take centre stage. Link in bio to check out THE BLACK BOX now. #KevinAnglade #THEBLACKBOX #HipHop by @kevinanglade11
