A weekend full of highs and lows. Spending time with all my siblings, my nine nieces and nephews, my parents, both my grandmothers, aunts and uncles, cousins and taking all the kiddos trick or treating - highs.

Seeing the jays lose the world series in game seven - a low (but happy to see them get that far; next year, boys).

Stopping through Glacier National Park on the way home from Canada - high.

Attending the funeral for one of my biggest role models in life, my Grandpa Lyle - low.

I woke up a few weeks ago in the middle of the night with a strong impression to call my dad and ask him if he’d be down to meet me on the Oregon Coast for a trip with just the two of us. I called him that morning and he said he’d love to. So we put it on the books and a short time later we met up in Portland, then headed to Seaside and Cannon Beach.

We spent a lot of time walking around, he brought my favourite surfboard down with him from Canada (yes, @aftanassurf it’s that big yellow one - it rips), and we got lots of beach time. I was flooded with memories of being a little kid, spending one on one time with him, and joking around. It turned out to be one of my favourite weekends of the year.

Also, Kurt could use some work on the whole “frame the picture so I’m holding the thing” type of photo. But we’ll let that slide. taken in Cannon Beach, Oregon by @kevschmidtlv
