Thank you

Thank for reminding me that’s its the people that define any leader. Never did I have to “defend” my actions, boast or embellish about the labour. You always spoke for me. And when others ask, how did she do as a leader? I never need to speak. It’s your voices that will be heard, and what you say matters most.

Thank you for reminding me that its the lives of the people we touch that will walk into any room long before we do. And I thank you, again, for the time you trusted me to champion you.

Thank you for reminding me that the dark cannot remain in the presence of the light. I carry you with me wherever I go, for you, have forever changed Me. Thank you for reminding of the joy that is found in the work that is done genuinely, compassionately, selflessly and with love. You will always be the reason I decided to become a leader in the first place.

Love always,

Dr Locke.

2:21 But God

My emotions-normally so neatly folded and tucked on the shelf, found themselves exposed, washed, wrung and hanging on the clothes line. Caressed in sunshine-wind whispering both my secrets and yours. We embraced, we connected, we heard God on the broken wing of a dragonfly.

Both strangers and friends turned the pages of a life lived. “Dear reader, may you find glimpses of your story in mine”. From GED to MD, MBA. And while so many more call out to you, as I do, for whatever reason, YOU did not pass me by.

The pages-once white, now held space for the fear, the pressure I carry, the demons, the faith that waxes, the war in my mind-they all found their voice on turning pages.
In a small Bookstore in Riverside Jacksonville Florida, God, you shone your mercy on me.

“I am God-I need only say BE and it is”.

🌻Ten years of @asa_hq, I’m grateful for the woman in the mirror. From starting as an attendee, this year on my birthday, I arrive as an exhibitor.

Arriving as a different version of myself every year, at some point I stopped feeling uncomfortable altogether. This year, I launch CORE Anesthesia Holdings💜

God authors the best stories.

There were things that I bet on, and other things I never saw coming:

Shared moments turn tradition.

Becoming one of the crew.

Not giving AF, that’s was a big one.

The people I would lose.

The @nyknicks winning the chip. Shout out to New York

Hello October, and hello San Diego - again. 🌴

“The Reckoning”-Dearest October, I am Ready.

In October-beginnings and endings walk side by side. May we honor them both.

October is my New Year.

Dearest October,

I can feel you at my back.

I can feel you standing there—you, quietly judging You.

Holding your scales in the balance.

This time of year always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Every year, I seem to grow more sensitive to the whispers in the wind.

Things always culminate in October.

Good or bad. Better or worse.

They end.

They begin.

And I am often left to discover myself anew.

I can feel you standing there.

“What do you mean, am I ready?”

I was born ready.

This angst is all part of the dance.

I’ll see you soon, God willing.

What month feels like your real beginning?

My favorite time of the day. Nothing has happened yet-and everything has happened, already. You catch a glimpse of the very moment the page turns. Everything is possible by @keya.locke

Motherhood is a 24/7 job, no days off. It’s a forever club.

To those who found ourselves being The mother, the father, the nurse, the doctor, the chauffeur and the therapist, May God forever cover you.
And I as I tell myself from time to time when I feel angry. It is us you who really gained in the end and those who were absent made a decision they will never truly recover from.

Motherhood is a long quiet heartbreak, disguised and years of ordinary days. The truth is, you lived for your children But you are preparing them to live Without you.

Today may you remember some forever truths:

You are enough.
You have loved, sacrificed, worried, guided, forgiven, shed countless tears & Blood, and Shown up more times than anyone will ever fully see. The choices your adult children make are not a measure of your worth as a mother.
You gave your all with the knowledge, strength, and love you had at the time. That matters. Your care mattered.

A mother’s heart was never meant to carry endless guilt for things beyond her control. You are allowed to rest. May you receive all your flowers today.

Give yourself Grace, honor yourself, for the labor that never truly ends 🌻. -Happy Mothers Day
