Some more FOOTBALL -!!!-
Here are the - FordhamUniversity Club Football National Champions - there is a great history to club football - student run-student organized - don’t be deceived by the word club - it was tough football . One day before the season started, I was ‘running’ around the field at the beginning of practice… and I do mean running around the field. Alone. Sweating. It seemed that I reported back from the summer break wearing the extra pounds from summer ‘fun’. Coach wanted me to lose some weight. As I ran around and around I ‘ran’ past Coach Lansing and Coach Walling who were watching me and having a laugh. As I Hobbled by Coach L says to Coach W, ‘No matter at what level, a championship is still a championship’. He was absolutely right. How did he know that then? 🔥🪜🔥 by @keygrip

The 4th of July … I’ve posted this shot before but given day and this location I thought I would put it up again. This is the torch of The Statue of Liberty. The reason I, us, were up there was to record, on film, the completion of the scaffolding erected around the statue before its restoration. The ‘topping off’ day. We climbed up stairways, then just up the scaffolding itself. Clip on, clip off and up we went , a fair amount of us anyway. Later, they installed an elevator. When we got to the top there were a couple of workman who were completely amazed to see us pull ourselves, and, our equipment over the top. We filmed what was needed and spent a little time just being up there and in awe. I stood there looking at the torch and wondered why the scaffold was about 5 feet away. I asked one of the workmen about the distance? He said, ‘stand there for a minute’. I watched the arm and looked down at the beautiful gift from France opening up below me. When I looked the arm was right next to me. I looked over to my workman friend and he looked at me and said, ‘wind’. … and sway it did. This movement totally unnoticeable from below. Today I think about this beautiful statue, the freedom it stands for and the sway in political thoughts, actions and on going challenges …. and the ‘scaffolding’ needed to keep our country free . Well … it’s Summer Solstice and Father’s Day! Great combo… a few different shots of my dad. 1st Communion (look it up if you are not familiar), high school yearbook from DeWitt Clinton HS in The Bronx ( my HS as well) and at the ‘Melody Club’, wherever that is, and no, that’s not my mom!
