Swipe to read a bit of my story (thank you Ms. Emma Moon for capturing this @heraldtribunesports )

Before winning four state titles and committing to Jacksonville State, hurdler Keymani Dillingham had to learn to overcome anxiety and find herself.

Keymani Dillingham remembers the first time track felt weightless.
It was at the District 1A-11 meet in April 2025. The then Saint Stephen’s junior didn’t feel any pressure. Months earlier, she wasn’t sure she wanted to continue running.
For the first time in her career, Dillingham wasn’t thinking about losing or asking herself what people would think if she didn’t cross the finish line first. She wasn’t worried about disappointing her family or the people who supported her. Dillingham became a regular in head coach A.J. Brown’s office, practicing mental exercises that felt awkward at first but were second-nature by the time the hurdler stepped on the raceway. And on districts day, it “all clicked.”

“It was really cool to go out there and actually be present, get on the line and be like, ‘OK, I’m doing this because I want to,’ “ Dillingham said. “I’m out here competing for God, for myself, for my family, all of this together. Let’s just leave it out here on the track.”

After winning district titles in the 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles and shot put, Dillingham went on to win four championship medals despite almost stepping away from track altogether. In May, the Saint Stephen’s senior finished first in the 100-meter hurdles (13.98) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.27), winning the FHSAA Class 1A state championships in both events for the second straight year. Her 400-meter hurdle finish broke the FHSAA’s Class 1A record, and she set new personal records in both events. In August, Dillingham will start college at Jacksonville State in Alabama, where she’ll begin her Division I career. (on a full ride scholarship)

And while she’s grateful for her success now, Dillingham continues daily maintenance on her “mind and body connection,” a relationship she’s grown to realize is one of the most important after months of questioning herself and her ability.
