✨ CLOSING DAY at 53 Downer St. 🏡✨

I loved seeing my “clients’” reaction when I finally told them.

And by “clients”… I mean my kids. ❤️

I waited until we were officially clear before saying anything — because in real estate, so many things can happen.
And they did.

But with a little teamwork, patience, and the right people behind the scenes… we made it to the closing table. 🙌

Watching it sink in that this is OUR home now?
That moment is everything.

53 Downer St. in Baldwinsville is officially ours. 🗝️

Grateful for the team that helped make it happen!

Over the past six months, I’ve done a lot of thinking about what I want Keys2CNY to truly stand for.

Real estate has so many lanes you can choose from. Luxury. Investment. Volume. Teams. Social media. Numbers. Production.

But when I slowed down and asked myself what I actually love most — it’s this:

Connection.
Community.
Supporting other people’s growth.

Central New York is filled with incredible business owners, creatives, tradespeople, lenders, organizers, designers, nonprofits — people already collaborating and building something special together. I’m not here to reinvent the wheel.

I’m here to highlight it.

To research.
To ask questions.
To find the best of the best.
To connect my clients with the right people for them.

Because one size does not fit all.

One lender may be perfect for one client, and not the right fit for the next. One contractor might align beautifully with one family’s vision — and another may need something totally different.

Getting to know people. Understanding their businesses. Learning their strengths.

That’s what I want my business to be about.

Keys2CNY isn’t just about buying or selling a house.
It’s about building your next chapter with the right people around you.

Collaboration over competition. Always. 🔑

I recently saw an agent repost something along the lines of, “Some of you don’t clap for others, and that is why it will never be your turn.”

And I understand the sentiment. To an extent.

We absolutely should support each other. There is enough business to go around, and someone else succeeding does not take anything away from me.

But the longer I’m in real estate, the more I’ve realized that some of the agents I respect the most aren’t spending much time asking people to clap for them.

They’re clapping for their clients.

They’re talking about the offer they helped a buyer structure when the situation was complicated. They’re educating people about things that actually matter in a transaction. They’re answering questions, solving problems, protecting their clients and quietly being really fucking good at their jobs.

That doesn’t mean they never make a cool listing video. It doesn’t mean they shouldn’t celebrate a closing, an incredible month or something they worked their ass off to accomplish. You SHOULD be proud of what you build.

But I think there’s a difference between celebrating your success and making yourself the center of your business.

And lately, that distinction has become really important to me.

I’m starting to shift the way I look at my own role in real estate. I don’t just want to be an agent someone can hire. I want to become a resource for people in my community, even when I’m not the person who ultimately represents them.

Which means I need to know who the really good agents are.

Not just who has the biggest social media presence.

Not just who sells the most houses.

Not just who makes the best listing videos or has another Top Producer graphic to share.

I want to know who listens. Who communicates. Who knows their shit. Who advocates for their clients when nobody is watching. Who will tell someone the truth even when it might cost them a commission. Who understands that the person across the table isn’t a transaction.

Those are the agents I want in my network.

And the more intentionally I look for them, the more I’ve noticed something: A lot of the people worth clapping for are already busy clapping for their clients by @keys2cny

Sometimes people mistake the way I show up for being easy to walk all over.

I’ll notice the comment, the tone, the way I’m being treated, and a lot of the time, I’ll let it go.

I’ll laugh it off. Give grace. Try to understand where someone is coming from before deciding how I want to respond.

That isn’t because I didn’t notice.

It’s because I believe meeting aggression with aggression usually creates more of it. I’d rather show up with love first.

Sometimes people mistake that grace for weakness.

They think because I let something go once, I’ll let it go indefinitely.

I won’t.

Today is a hard neuropathy day, and living with peripheral neuropathy has a lot to do with the way I’ve learned to handle things like this.

When I say neuropathy, I’m not talking about occasional tingling or pins and needles. That’s background noise.

I’m talking about the flares where you cannot comfortably exist inside your own skin.

Everything inside you is screaming. Your nerves are firing sensations that shouldn’t be there, your body hurts, and every additional bit of input feels amplified.

Conversation. Noise. Touch. Questions. Decisions.

Everything gets added to a nervous system already at capacity.

Sometimes I have to go home. Get quiet. Hydrate. Sleep. Shut out as much input as possible and wait for my body to turn the volume back down.

But it’s taught me how to control the one thing I can:

Me.

Just because I feel something intensely doesn’t mean I have to respond with the same intensity.

I can get quiet. I can recognize when my reaction would be bigger than the moment deserves. I can choose how I respond even when I can’t choose what my body is doing.

And I’m proud of that.

So if you’ve ever watched me brush something off and then been surprised when I eventually drew a hard line, you weren’t watching me suddenly become a different person.

I saw it the first time.

I just chose grace before I chose the boundary.

Don’t mistake one for the absence of the other.

I believe love should get the first word.

It just doesn’t have to get the last one. 🖤

POV: you bought a house and accidentally developed a new personality trait: ✨unearned confidence in home improvement✨ 😂🔨

Yesterday got a little out of hand.

But did I fix it? Yes.
Did I know what I was doing when I started? Absolutely not. 💀

Homeownership really is just saying “how hard could it be?” over and over until eventually you own tools. 😂🏠

Tomorrow is the first day of school, and I swear every year it hits me a little harder. 🥹

The older my girls get, the more I realize how badly I want time to slow down. Life gets so busy chasing the next goal, the next thing, the next version of where we think we’re supposed to be… and meanwhile, this is it. This is the good stuff.

I don’t want to rush through these years. I want to notice them. The little conversations, the laughs, the chaos, the ordinary nights at home, and even the moments that make me crazy. 😂

Because somehow they keep getting older, and I’m realizing more and more just how grateful I am for the life I already have. 🤍

Big goals come with uncertainty. You won’t always know exactly how it’s going to work out, but you do have to stay in the game long enough to find out.

Keep building. Keep learning. Keep taking the next opportunity.

I went in for folders and a glue stick.

I came out holding low rise jeans and a Hollister fur coat, having a full crisis in aisle 12.

Low rise. Fur trimmed hood. My kid held it up and said “this is so cute.” Ma’am. I owned that. I wore it to homecoming. There is photographic evidence and I have spent twenty years managing it.

There is a very specific humbling that happens when your high school wardrobe comes back as a trend instead of as evidence.

Anyway, here is your real estate content for the day.
Low rise jeans came back. The 8% mortgage rates from that exact same year did not.

I mention it because I talk to someone almost every week who is waiting for those rates to come back. I get the impulse. But waiting for 2004 is not a strategy, and it is not how the people I know actually built equity. Most of them were not timing anything. They bought something they could afford and then owned it for twenty years.

That does not mean today is your day. Plenty of people should wait, and I will tell you if I think you are one of them. It just means the rate is one number in a much bigger decision, not the whole decision.

The fur coat can come back. I am fine with it. I am not putting it on.

Tell me the one thing from that era you are honestly glad returned, and the one that should have stayed buried.
