Everyone keeps asking me why I went to the film academy.
What is a nurse doing @pinklineacademy.

But just incase @directorpink_ doesn’t know the magnitude of dreams she’s set on the runway, allow me tell her myself. Because she’s building builders, funding dreamers and teaching creators. So here’s my answer.

Looking back at the BTS hits differently now. Every frame, every effort, every late decision and every person who contributed to the process was worth it. We were scammed, harassed at the beach, and more stuff happened that we can’t even begin to share but thank you @yhemo_lee for being so receptive and recognizing our efforts.

What has been my biggest lesson so far?

As we bring the academy to a close, one thing I’ve learnt is how to work with multiple creatives. You’d meet crazy-talented folks in life, and if you don’t know how to manage people and communicate, you’d get easily overwhelmed or upset.

People come with nuances alongside their differences, always give a little room for that, in fact expect it. Humans will human and people will people. Thank you once again @directorpink_ and @pinklineacademy for giving us your best, I hope my best would be good enough.

Group 16 Mini-project: Fences, the monologue.

@directorpink_ said we should get our hands dirty with a hands-on experience before our main project and we said “you bet!”. @pinklineacademy has exposed talents my team didn’t even know we had 😆, cus @mavinmowitz when did you start your acting career?

“Kezi, she already posted the winners!”- 6 words that probably broke my heart more than I expected.

I got sent this scholarship application today two hours before the deadline and at the time I didn’t even know there was one 😆, but I’m still putting this out there cus I’m so proud of myself for thinking, shooting and editing in 4 hours. New high score I guess🤭

To the great @directorpink_ thank you for giving the ladies an opportunity but most importantly for showing the possibilities for women in filmmaking. You wear the hat so well and I know someday I’d be learning from you.

To @galasausage_roll and @filmoneng thank you for making my childhood. My mum banned me at some point from purchasing sausage rolls 🤣 and thank you also for sponsoring this scholarship ❤️

“I want to be a robotic engineer…” chizaram said but her voice trailed off and the excitement left her as she looked down thinking about how she was going to get there. I was seeing a dream breakdown in real time…

Desert Rose: Project 1000.
December last year, my siblings and I visited 5 orphanages. It’s something we started doing during the holidays and festivities as far back as 2015 but that time we didn’t put a name to it probably because we didn’t have enough faith to trust God’s supply.

But Jesus doesn’t share my anxiety.

Because as the years have passed we’ve come to see that God has constantly made room for these people through these channels and so my sister finally put a name to it.
Desert rose…the ray of hope for hopeless, the stream of joy for the sad, the light of love for the unreached.

We went back last month. And we kept meeting kids like Chizaram. We met a nurse in the making reciting things she’d read about the body, we saw a web designer that has no idea how he's to get there. Dreams already fully formed inside children whose only real obstacle is nobody around them modeling those dreams.

These children don’t just need food and shelter. They need someone to look at them the way we looked at Chizaram, and mean it.

We’re building the structure for this as God gives us wisdom for it, one step at a time. Come December, we’re opening the channel for anyone who wants in.

Chizaram already has the dream. All she’s missing is someone willing to stand behind it.
