✨ Two Years Post-Donation ✨

Today marks two years since I donated my kidney to Aunt Dinee — a decision that changed my life in ways I never could have imagined.

Even though she’s no longer with us, I hold peace knowing that the gift I gave her gave our family something priceless: more moments, more conversations, more laughter.

These two years have been full of healing — physically and emotionally. I’ve learned that strength isn’t always loud or fearless — sometimes it’s simply showing up and giving what you can.

I’d do it a thousand times over if it meant one more road trip, singing off-key, and laughing uncontrollably.

To anyone considering organ donation: it’s a gift that ripples far beyond the surgery. It becomes part of your story, part of their legacy, and part of the love that remains.

Here’s to two years.

Here’s to Aunt Dinee.

Here’s to the memories that keep her close.

And here’s to the reminder that love — even in loss — is never wasted. 💚 taken in Vanderbilt University Hospital by @kfcaldw1
