A handful of different versions of me, but you know what every single version is?

Sober
Healing
Grateful
Hard working
Kind
Strong
Resilient
Smart

Everyday of any type of healing, self reflecting journey is a full day of work; but every step is worth it.

Give yourself some grace & understand that healing and unlearning toxic traits & habits will forever leave you as a work in progress. But you’ll always be better than the 24 hours prior. 💕 by @kgolds7089

Life since February has looked real different.

I got out of a terrifying DV relationship and quite literally fought for my life on February 24th.

Chopped all of my hair off.

Didn’t really work or do a whole lot of anything besides survive for real.

Really just tried to find my faith again.

However, I’m back to living what a “normal” life looks for me.

Real grateful for my resilience, the people in my life, my sobriety as I’ve just recently hit 1,700 days sober, and the gym.

Looking forward to Summer & whatever it has in store for me these next few months. ☀️🫶🏼 by @kgolds7089

October 10th was 4 years clean & sober which brings me to 1,464 days as of today.

It feels very surreal. Some days I remember, and feel myself how I was in these photos.

As brutal as it is to see myself in these, I saved some of the worst ones for my camera roll. However, it’s also a nice refresher to remind myself where I came from.

If there’s one piece of advice that I’d give; it would be that if something works for you, then do it. It doesn’t matter if it’s pertaining to sobriety, fitness, financials, relationships, etc. There’s no one size fits all for anything.

Whatever works for you only has to make sense to you. Never forget that. I feel like the internet can be full of people who want to sell you a dream, but have never struggled to fall asleep at night.

Give yourself 24 hours of steps, and/or a plan that works for you, and then do it for 24 more hours. You deserve it.

Over the last 4 years I’ve done a lot of cool shit. I’ve learned a lot about myself, read a lot of books, lifted a lot of weights, hit a lot of meetings, became more present for myself & moments, developed a new relationship, cried a lot, struggled a lot, fought cravings & urges, and have continued to move forward.

Grateful for the good, and the bad. This shit is hard, but everyday is worth it. Especially because I know I’m worth it. 🤘🏼 by @kgolds7089

Life has taught me a lot of shit in 33 years. I couldn’t imagine having zero experience, and thinking I have it all figured out or judging the shit out of other people because they choose to lead or live differently.

Honestly, I’m glad I’ve had the struggles, addictions, and problems that I’ve overcome, or am learning to work through daily. Clearly they’re what have made me the tough bitch I am today.

Teaching yourself to be resilient is really hard though. Like actually truly learning to sit with your thoughts, feelings, and emotions is really fucking difficult. Especially when you’re dealing with whatever demons that are taunting you day in and day out. Mental health issues are truly terrifying.

I’m talking about making sure that you’re not staying so busy that you can’t think about things, or abusing substances to not process or feel things. Learning to write shit down, reading, walking with no headphones, spending time alone. Whatever it looks like to help make sure we’re processing, and not running. Or blasting our lives all over social media, and mindlessly scrolling to forget our reality.

Anyway, as of today I’m 1,440 days clean & sober. Some days are better than others. I’ve had a lot of really great days, and I’ve had a lot of days where I’d love to run & numb things. I’ve had a lot of days that I’ve literally made myself physically sick from overthinking, and I’ve had a lot of great days where I could learn to rationalize more. But at the end of the day, I’ve been sober for all 1,440 of those days. & I think that’s pretty damn cool.

I’m not super sure what the point of this post is honestly. Mostly a little rambling, but I really want you to take away that if just because you’ve never experienced something that someone is going through, or chooses to go through, always remember it’s none of your fucking business.

Thankful, grateful, and blessed. I plan to keep going another 24 hours, and I hope you do too. by @kgolds7089

Collecting moments & making memories.

Life happens fast so do what makes you happy, love those who love you, and let go of anything that weighs you down. 🫶🏼 taken in St. Louis, Missouri by @kgolds7089

My favorite thing about my life is just that, it’s mine.

No one else’s timeline, no pressure, and no unwanted expectations. & lately I have truly enjoyed being able to embrace the moments I’ve prayed & worked for.

Folks love to judge the situations people are in, and how quickly or late they do things. That’s very weird energy to me personally.

The only timeline that matters is the one you’ve set for yourself. Don’t forget that, and truly take the time to enjoy your days.

Lately, my days are filled with working lots, embarking on my sourdough bread journey, petting all the dogs, and being loved by a solid ass man. Grateful with a full cup. 🫶🏼 taken in St. Louis, Missouri by @kgolds7089

This year had way more ups than downs, and for that I’m grateful. 🤞🏼❤️

I’ve overcome a lot of situations with growth & faith lately, and I’m proud of myself for that. The old, and unhealed me could never do so. Therefore it’s truly not only a blessing for me, but for all parties involved honestly. Stayed blessed, and try someone else. 😘🙏🏼

Life is dope, and I’m looking forward to what else I can work for in 2025. ✨ by @kgolds7089

Standing up for yourself does not mean you’re being confrontational. Conversations addressing issues you don’t agree with are normal, and healthy.

If leaders always think they’re right, and can’t handle conversations like that, they’re not a leader.

Don’t let anyone make you feel like you’re doing the wrong thing by standing up for yourself either. Be true to you even if people get upset. People who actually want to grow with you, and lead you; won’t get upset. No one will ever have your back like you do.

I will die being the “intimidating”, and “confrontational” girl if it means I’m not a door mat. 💁🏻‍♀️ taken in St. Louis, Missouri by @kgolds7089

Impact over intent.

Never be scared to eat alone.

Not everyone is your friend.

Privacy can be power.

Never be scared to start over. The opportunity presented itself for a reason.

Failure is inevitable, it’s how you rebound.

Don’t hesitate to leave any relationship, friend, or job behind that no longer serves you. This is your life.

Work ethic can’t be taught, value it if you have it.

Never forget your worth, and always hold that standard.
