To my mother figure, my grandmother, my heart, and my soul. Thank you so much for raising me, taking care of me, holding me, and protecting me. I will never meet another person like you. You are the most resilient, funnienst, independent, strongest, and kindest person I have ever had the chance to meeting my life. I envionsioned my life with you. I don’t know how I will go on, especially in this next chapter, you were and are everything I aspire to be. You didn’t deserve this ending. I’m so so sorry this happened to you. I am so so sorry I didn’t do enough to prevent this I am so so sorry for not giving you more time and care. I wish I had done much more. I wish I gave you all that you ever asked for. Now it’s too late. I never got to show you the home I got for you, your new room with first floor bathroom, the future I envisioned to be able to take care of you like you did for me. I can never be as good of a woman like you. You were the best. My gratitude, appreciation, and resiliency stem from you. I have no words to explain how much you mean to me, and how much of an impact you had on me. I hope I made you proud. Fly High my sweet most beautiful and strong angel ❤️ You will forever be my Mae Thuu, I love and miss you so very much, I am forever grateful have held your hand from the beginning to end. I am so sorry. I love you so much Mae Thuu. by @khammunity

As a psychology graduate, one thing I’ve learned is that how you study matters. 🧠 Here are three learning strategies I find especially helpful when preparing for an exam like the SAT: spacing, retrieval practice, and mixed practice.

Never would I have imagined that I would be asked to become a teaching assistant as an undergrad, let alone for a math college course. I failed Algebra in highschool as a freshman and had to retake it due to missing too much classes due to the bullying, threats, and harassment at 15 years old. That was the one and only class I ever failed in life ever. A math course. I remember my math teacher hugging me as we cried together during the final exam in 2018. But here I am in these pictures, I wrapped the 2022 year up being a statistics teaching assistant for the Math Department as just a sophmore in undergrad at JUST 19 years old. This would not have been posssible if it were not for Professor Bonnie Kegan with the amazing support and TopHat textbook and practice format. After acing her stat class and keeping in touch, she gave me the honor of being her teaching assistant. This is a huge deal because these math positions as such are usually reserved for and given to graduate students. Thank you so very much again to Ms. Kegan for giving little ole me a chance and for the end of the year gift I am so appreciative, I was so not expecting any of this at all. And to the class of 70 students, thank you for letting me lead yall on Thursdays. I didn’t let one failure in my childhood define my entire trajectory with your support. I always believed in myself even when people doubted me, even when peers doubted my ability in academics. They thought just because I looked the way I did, I wasn’t a hard worker and “smart” enough. I post this now not while everything is going perfect but as I am going through new setbacks right now with a handful of rejections in graduate funding and jobs. While this is also a celebration post, this is a reminder to myself and you that failures don’t define you. Other people’s doubts in you, don’t define you. You will get through it, believe in youself, and surround yourself around people who believe in you. Yes you may be going through uncertain and hard times right now but do not give up, your life is not over. If you have will, you will find a way. Lets continue to be resilient and it keep it up love. #failure + #success = #resillience by @khammunity

🧠🧘🏻‍♀️✨Times like these I need a lift me up ✨
One of the most powerful positive psychology practices is also one of the simplest:

Every night, write down 3 things that went well today + WHY they happened. ✍🏼

They don’t have to be huge moments either.
It can be:
• a good conversation
• laughing today
• finishing an assignment
• getting outside
• finally resting

This practice comes from positive psychology research by Dr. Martin Seligman and is often called “Three Good Things.”

Why it works 🧠:
Our brains naturally focus on stress, problems, and what went wrong (negativity bias). This practice helps retrain your attention to notice positive moments, meaning, progress, and gratitude in everyday life.

Over time, research has shown it can help increase happiness, optimism, and overall well-being. 🌱

The important part:
Don’t just write WHAT happened.
Write WHY you think it happened too.

My 3 G’s:
“I applied to a job and posted reels on each social media platform.”
Why: “Because I spaced each task throughout the day.”
“I journaled and planned for the day.”
Why: “Because I did it in the beginning of my day.”
“I ate food, felt in the present, and in a lighter mood.”
Why: “Because my bestie and I ate food outside on a picnic table at the park.”

Tiny reflections can slowly change the way we experience life.

Tonight’s reminder:
What are 3 good things that happened today? 💭
