Punam, June 2018 vs. Punam June 2026.

Eight years ago, almost this week, I moved the furniture around in my massive Hackney living room to make way for three trestle tables and 25 friends (and friends of friends) who booked to join my first ever Gujarati Supper Club. And this last Sunday, I was co-hosting a fabulous collab supper club for over 50 people with my dear @chopechopestudio. 💕

We’ve grown, our supper clubs have grown, but at the core, we still believe one thing to be true: it’s more than just about the food, it’s personal. THANK YOU for sticking with us for eight glorious years, and thank you to everyone who has joined us along the way. 🙏🏽

Thank you to all the team members, past and present we've had the pleasure of working with that help to make each event go without a hitch, to the family members who still help chop and roll when we're prepping at home, to all the venues, and the amazing fellow chefs and brands we've had a chance to collaborate with! 🙏🏽

To mark this occasion, we’re moving products from our KHAO STORES over to it’s own insta-page. This is where we’ll share more on our Spices and Merch so if you really love us, please give our new page a follow!

Big hugs,

KHAO STORES: a personally curated and crafted selection of items for you and your kitchen.

We've always said, if you come to a supper club and loved a dish, we'll send you the recipe. Khao has always been about sharing the dishes and recipes I have grown up eating, the flavours that I probably didnt understand then, but know all too well now.

From this very place, came about the idea to open our very own shop. A place where you can find the ingredients to recreate our recipes, but also maybe add something more to your own.

Last march we launched our Gujarati Four Spice, a blend so close to my heart. And we've loved hearing all the ways its been used! For 2026, we bring you Tandoori Masalo, our in-house blended Spice with depth and layers, ready for any recipe. We're also excited to share that this year we will be launching a selection of refill packs for those who already own the tins!

We're also in the process of bringing something very special to Khao Stores. It is the one ingredient we have been developing and sourcing for over a year but are finally seeing the end of the tunnel, more on that soon! For now, go check out our shop!

KHAO STORES PRESENTS: TANDOORI MASALO

It has been a journey, one I am so proud to have experienced as I bring you the second spice blend from our rasodu or kitchen, to yours. A spice blend with its heritage rooted in the old Peshawari kitchens, where large tandoors cooked meat until it was smoking and tender, comes the same inspiration for this recipe.

Made with an 11-spice blend recipe, and NO onion or garlic powder, our Tandoori Masalo brings a depth of flavour without any artificial colours or flavours. Just real proper spices, ground manually so you may even find a few bits of unground spice! Ideal for any kind of cooking, from vegetables to paneer or other protein you prefer.. 🥔🍄‍🟫🍗🫘

All you need to do is add a fat of your choice-we recommend a mix of oil & ghee-and salt. To really up the flavour, enhance the Masalo with freshly ground garlic, ginger and green chillies. More recipes to come!

Available to buy now from the Khao Stores shop, linked in bio!

Khao Stores: Gujarati Four Spice. Bringing the flavours of an authentic Gujarati shaak, we present a specially hand blended masala that pays homage to generations of home cooking and the recipes and traditions passed down from person to person.

What's in it?!
A specifically measured ratio of four key spices: cumin & coriander powder are blended together first, in a specific ratio, a blend that is commonly used in Gujarati cooking. The cumin's richness is balanced by the slightly citrus and floral notes of coriander powder resulting in a warm, earthy flavour.
To this I add a special blend of ground red chillies, finely ground combination of red guntur chilli together with Kashmiri chillies for heat but also a deep crimson red.
The Four spice is then finished with a small quantity of turmeric powder to add a pleasantly bitter taste and golden hue.

How to use it?
You can use it in a shaak like we do, orrrr experiment with your favourite dishes. Use it as a spice rub for your bbq, add it to your baked beans, or better yet, grill that cauliflower you've been meaning to use up! We've got lots of ideas on the Store for ways to use it if you need any inspiration!

I still remember going shopping, by myself with my own money, at about 18. I walked into this Japanese retail store I won't name, and they had these incredible anime t-shirts. I got a whole bunch, and you can bet 20 years later I still have them! I think that started my craze for graphic tees, and how such a simple item of clothing can play a big role in how you express yourself, your personality, the things you like and love. Even now, my collection ranges from some of my favourite things but never my favourite food. UNTIL NOW!

Khao Stores presents a collection of personally curated illustrations telling the story of Gujarati food, in a fun and playful way. I was so pleased when I came across the perfect Artists to bring the designs to life!

Khao Stores presents the Kadhi Tee.

Kadhi, found in every region of India, is a dish made of tempered yoghurt, cooked at very high heat. In Punjab, it is often cooked with onion fritters or pakora, In southern Indian states, it includes coconut in the temper. The way we've had it at home, it is cooked in lots of curry leaves and with ghee, and served with a peas and carrot rice. The Kadhi Tee is our homage to all Kadhi, and the strength and resilience of generational recipes getting passed from hand to hand.

Available to pre-order now in sizes S-XL, link in bio!

KHAO STORES: Gujarati Four Spice is out on @delli.market from Wednesday 19th March!

A specially blended seasoning, it can be used in traditional cooking or just add it to a dish and as how it goes?! It's base is the generations old flavours that remind me of the rural fields of coriander and cumin back in Fatana, Gujarat. The earthy composition packs balanced heat from the red chillies with richness from the cumin and slightly citrus tones of the coriander. The turmeric finishes off the golden hue to bring a touch of bitterness.

Limited stock so grab yours whilst you can! Use the link in bio to sign up!

KHAO STORES: Dhokla are Gujarati!? Tee. Pre-Order Now!

Khao Suppers presents the first in our collection of merchandise, bringing our love for classic Gujarati food through beautiful illustrations specially curated by us for you. For the first collection, we present "Dhokla are Gujarati?!", working with an incredible illustrator to bring our idea to life. The story behind this Tee originates from a conversation with a friend, who LOVES dhokla but had no idea they're Gujarati! So, to all our dhokla loving friends - Dhokla are Gujarati!

For our first design, we worked with London-based creative Yo-Janda! A creative who loves exploring his upbringing and identity through his art, with a background in graphic design and illustration, his playful style blends abstract lines and friendly characters to express his message. We have admired Yo-Janda's expressive creative style for some time and are so pleased to bring him on board to create the first illustration, helping us to bring our playful Dhokla friends to life!

PRESENTING: KHAO STORES

As a child, the simple process of grocery shopping was so unique and magical to me. Whether it was Mina Stores in Forest Gate or a trip to Ealing Road and VB & Sons, I was always in awe of the smells, sights and sounds that just bombard my senses walking in to an Asian grocery store. Paying homage to those memories, I am delighted to present the launch of Khao Stores; personally curated and crafted products for you and your kitchen.

Everyday this week, we share details on our first drop, launching Friday 7th March. by @3rdculturekat
