POSTS STORIES REELS

I got to sit down with my friends at @cosy.land back in summer to discuss vulnerability, empowerment and the end of femme. I’m so grateful for this community and all of the connections we’ve made together along the way. I hope this conversation explains a bit more about why I decided to end the magazines and inspires you to go forth and do your thing in the world!

Love you ❤️❤️❤️ link in bio by @khaya.j

Posting all the videos/thank yous on @khayasings 🥰 by @khaya.j

And she is OPEN ❤️🌹✨

Months and months and months of self exploration, conversation, grief, hope with my sister @wingshan.ee . We were paired together for this collaboration as part of the To & Fro funded project by @weareprimary . Thank you @coletteg13 for all of your support and for pairing us together… it has been long overdue for Wing and I to work together.

Within our exhibition we have created a sacred/safe/ritualistic space, recreating the stone circle at the nine ladies. The nine ladies danced in the dark, in the clearing, under the moon where they were turned to stone.

I think about rebellious women often and how they open the doors for all of us and set us free. It’s so easy to feel bogged down in our day to day lives, in routine, in priorities and commitments… the making of this exhibition was a chance for us to explore play and see how we could bring back some magic and hope back into our lives.

Thank you SOOO much to everyone who came to the launch last night, I woke up beaming today full of gratitude. I leave Nottingham in 2 weeks and this feels like a very full circle way to go. Thank you @rimantelittle @a.j.r.huntley @uprooted_artist @bethkettel @crhillustrates @helenbclay and everyone who helped to make this happen! I’ve learned so much from this experience and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Also thank you to everyone who took the time to answer the journal prompts and get involved with the cards, your reflections were beautiful and we can’t wait to be inspired by them all ❤️

EXHIBITION: 1 March - 30 March 2024
OPENING TIMES: Thursday - Saturday, 10am-6pm or by appointment.

Hope you like it! Thank you, thank you 🥹 immense gratitude. by @khaya.j

Guys!!!! 🧡🥹
I have to say a massive thank you. This year has been nothing short of amazing… from little things like finally learning to drive, putting out music after a 3 year break, starting Reconnect and returning to workshop facilitation and so much in between.

I’ve really put my money where my mouth is and done the work to step out of my comfort zone and do the inner work so I can feel fulfilled and as authentically me as possible. Practicing what I preach! It’s been an amazing journey and I haven’t felt this ME in a long time.

With all that to say, the next Reconnect workshop (and last one of this year) is officially live! I won’t be doing one in December as I have exams and family visiting, so join me for this early end of year celebration. This session is all at about giving ourselves some recognition, celebrating how far we’ve come, being proud of ourselves!

I’m really fookin excited for this one honestly. The last one gave me such a buzz and this theme is just so yummy and exciting and so I hope you’ll join meeee. Tickets in the bio as usual, brings your friends, get comfy and let’s celebrate ourselves! I’ll see you there!!!!! Thank you for all the support this year💋💋💋🫂🫂🫂🧡🧡🧡

And just like that we’re back with workshop 3! This next one is under the theme of ‘Dream’… ♥️✨
The past two workshops, we’ve done a lot of digging within and releasing, to make room for the new. And so with this workshop I want to spark your curiosity and creativity even more. It’s time to start dreaming… start planting seeds and creating new dreams. I hope you’ll join me! I’m really excited for this one.

Thanks again to @theyogatreenorwich for providing us with a beautiful space to connect!

This year has been all about pushing myself out of my comfort zone and not being afraid to be a beginner. I’ve always been an advocate of creativity but as we get older I feel like we have to protect our creative instincts even more. We collect knocks or setbacks along the way and start telling ourselves stories about who we are and what we can achieve.
That’s why I believe that the work we do on the inside counts for everything on the outside… as within so without! Earlier this year shortly after my 28th birthday, I got diagnosed with ADHD, which allowed me to have so much compassion for myself and my brain. I’ve spent the summer trying to overcome so many blocks I collected in my last few years of notts… trying to feel more comfortable with visibility and taking up space.
EFT (tapping), journaling, The Artist’s Way and a lottttt of patience hahah. And really supportive people around me 🤞🏽
All of this to say but my timeline maybe didn’t look like what I thought it would look like this year… but I wasn’t afraid to start again. Passed my driving test, put music out after 3 years and started workshop facilitation again… and dancing after like 2 decades! To name a few. Sharing in hopes to encourage you to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try something you’ve always wanted to do. And join our community @reconnect.circle for help with the inner work stuff that might allow you to take those steps ♥️ by @khaya.j

My first time playing around with the midi keyboard… think I’ll add learning keys to the list!
Snippet from a song I wrote in 2024 called ‘Free Now’… the feeling of moving out of survival mode and enjoying the present moment after a time of disruption.
Enjoy, have a good day <3 by @khaya.j

A morning sing song for you… thank you to everyone who has been streaming Lost & Found 🌷🤍🩷 I love sharing little pieces of my journey and can’t wait to perform all these new songs in person 💌 by @khaya.j

I journal and tap (EFT) every day, not because I think I have everything figured out, but so that I can have better discernment. So that I can give myself the best chance of having a good day. I may then later be reactive or ungrateful or stressed, but these are tools that I can always come back to.

When I first started these simple practices, I was probably expecting there to be a finish line… a place I would get to where I had everything figured out and I became perfectly “healed”. But that never happened. Life hasn’t seemed to get any easier, challenges are always present but my capacity to handle them has definitely grown and my confidence in my strength has too.

Journaling every day has made me more confident. It has strengthened my relationship with myself. It’s given me more head space. I don’t know all of the answers… I don’t know where I’m supposed to be or even what I’m supposed to (in a capitalistic way lol), but through my practices, I feel closer to myself than ever. So I think it’s worth showing up for!

If you’d like to join me in these practices next week, in a relaxed late morning session, you can book a ticket to our next Reconnect workshop via the link in our bio 💜 no previous experience needed x by @khaya.j

And we’re back for workshop 2… the theme is acceptance 💚
Last time we looked at ‘what’s there’, getting curious with ourselves and rebuilding relationships with ourselves for maybe the first time in a while. This workshop is about accepting where we are, what has been, with love and compassion so that we can begin to plant new seeds and move forward.

I hope you’ll join us ♥️🌷🥰
Link for tickets is in our bio. DM or comment for any questions!
