Uganda. My first encounter with a silverback.

You can read about the DNA we share, their intelligence, their emotions, their family bonds, their cognition... but none of it prepares you for actually being this close.

The sheer presence of a Silverback Gorilla. The power. The silence. Hearing my own heartbeat while sitting only metres away from an animal that somehow feels both completely wild and strangely familiar.

There was something in his eyes that is impossible to explain in a photograph. You suddenly understand, on a completely different level, how closely connected we are.

I’m emotional with animals at the best of times, but this was something else. To sit there in silence, photographing him from only metres away, feeling completely safe while also having this enormous respect for his power and presence was unreal.

Remarkable. Insane. Humbling. One of the most emotional wildlife encounters of my life.

A little snippet from our safari today in the legendary Serengeti National Park, where the wilderness feels endless and every game drive tells a different story. From vast golden plains and roaming herds to lions resting beneath acacia trees and predators constantly on the move, the Serengeti is a living theatre of nature.

Here, life follows its ancient rhythm—survival, movement, birth, and renewal. It’s a place where you never quite know what the next bend in the track will reveal.

Today was another reminder of why the Serengeti remains one of Africa’s most extraordinary safari destinations. The plains are alive, the wildlife is thriving, and the story of the wild continues.

What a sighting today! 🦁🔥 Nature unfolded right before our eyes as a lioness successfully hunted and made a kill. A powerful reminder that the African wilderness is raw, unpredictable, and beautifully balanced.
