Meet Bess inspired by, “Porgy and Bess”
Gershwin retreated to Pinopolis where the living would be easier and spent a few days in the village home which is today our family residence. In 2023 the piano Gershwin played during his Pinopolis respite was returned to our home where it inspired me to imagine Gershwin’s famous summer in the low country. The fun is framing that particular woman who inspired the composer. Who is this divine siren whose dad was rich and whose momma’s good lookin? This particular type of woman looms large in every hometown whether it’s Rainbow Row or Catfish Row. by @khesterart
