i took this HUGE step after asking myself “would i rather to continue to be of this world or be promised eternal life and live for God?” and it was the EASIEST answer that i would choose every single time. romans 12:2. 1 john 2:15. john 15:18-25. this means the literal world to me (as you can see me ugly crying). i am so ecstatic for this public declaration to occur on the last day of my 21-day fast which has been so bountiful and fruitful for me. i am also forever grateful and appreciative to have amazing people in my corner to support and encourage me through everything.

growing up as a child, i could count on my fingers alone the amount of church services i missed. but i wasn’t going to church because i loved God at that time, i was going because that’s what i was told and that’s what i knew was right. i didn’t grow my personal relationship with God until i experienced so much darkness and i knew that only God would get me out. so i leaned on Him, talked to Him, bonded with Him, and i knew that i never wanted to live without Him.

As I prepare to say my final farewell, I want to express how grateful I am to have chosen the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to spend my collegiate years.

My time at this University has changed me for the better. From the countless connections I have made and the relationships I will cherish for life, to the long nights after procrastinating multiple assignments. It all shaped me to be the hard-working, intelligent, and dedicated lady I am today. Nobody but God has seen the hardships I encountered, and still pushed through to get to the finish line. Nobody but God. Thank you God.
