Where do I begin…The woman who started this journey is not the one graduating next month. Medical school tested me, challenged me, and revealed so much about who I am. Through every obstacle, God showed me the path to the finish. Being inducted into medicine’s only honor’s society and matching into my specialty of choice… I couldn’t be more grateful for this life. I pray God continues to keep his hands on me. I’m endlessly grateful for my parents, partner, and my close friends and family who carried me, prayed for me, and reminded me of who I was when I needed it most. My village is irreplaceable. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“I didn’t take this verse lightly yesterday. (Until the moment I was opening the envelope) I was eerily calm. I kept replaying this verse in my head and I knew no matter what, Gods choice would be the right one. And it was. In July I will start my medical training for Anesthesia at Rutgers RWJ Medical Center in New Jersey!❤️🖤 There were a few people I didn’t thank in my speech that deserve all the recognition!To my angels: Grandaddy and Aunt Lee, I did it! Im gonna be a doctor! To my never ending family tree: thank you for your prayers, your love, your calls and texts. I wouldn’t be me without my family.To my line sisters: thank you for being the big sisters I never had! Taking time out your day, sending me love, and supporting my journey never go unnoticed. I grateful for 136 extensions of my heart. And to myself: thank you for never giving up on that little girls dream. Pushing through ever obstacle. My childhood dream is coming true. In 8 months, I WILL be a physician! This is for the little ambitious girl on slide two. The Embodiment of Perseverance and Purpose Fulfilled… My path was carved in legacy but earned through unwavering determination. Like the very definition of triumPHANT, I grew, I rose, and I became.
