They’ve always been here. Long before the cities, before the roads, before we started naming things. Ancient. Reptilian. Shapeshifters wearing human skin so perfectly you’d never know. Your neighbour. Your colleague. The stranger who held the door. You’ve never suspected a thing, and that’s exactly how Zarak wants it. #characterconceptart #character_design #reptilian by @kian.kiani
Lorn says little and sees everything. Lorn is the one you don’t notice until it’s too late, still in the black water, watching, calculating. Some say he was the smartest of the three from the beginning and simply chose the worst possible companions. He’d never admit it, but he hasn’t left either. There’s something in the Murk that keeps all three of them together, old and ugly and unbreakable. #knightoftheswamp #character #characterdesign #visdev #visualdevelopmentart by @kian.kiani
CROCO “Bogrim” Nobody asks Bogrim for a plan. They ask him to go first. Broad as a fallen oak and twice as stubborn, he crashes through the Murk like a problem that refuses to be ignored. He laughs at the wrong moments, eats things he probably shouldn’t, and has never once retreated, mostly because he forgets that’s an option. Veldrak tolerates him. Lorn finds him exhausting. The swamp, somehow, seems to like him. #character #characterdesign #characterconcept by @kian.kiani
Croco “ Knight of the Swamp” Veldark, Deep in the festering heart of the Murk, where the water tastes of iron and the trees grow sideways , there rules a knight unlike any other. They call him Veldrak. No one remembers who gave him the title, or whether he took it himself. He speaks rarely, moves slowly, and when he finally acts, something usually stops existing. The other two follow him not out of loyalty, but because even the swamp seems to lean out of his way. #character #characterdesign #character-concept #concept by @kian.kiani
Here is a project I worked on back in 2019 for Aardman Animation, which unfortunately didn't materialise. I completely forgot to share it at the time, better late than never! 😄 After all these years, I also went back and painted one more sketch to have a little more to show you all. Hope you enjoy it! 🎨 @aardmananimations #animation #aardmananimations #aardmanacademy by @kian.kiani
The other piggy character look development from our fantastic animation with @illogicstudios that I forgot to post earlier! 🐷🎬 @intermarche by @kian.kiani
Here’s the painting of a little piggy who just couldn’t trust the wolf that easily… trust takes time, even in cartoons! 😄 From our lovely animation project with @illogicstudios @intermarche by @kian.kiani
Here are some visual development and character design pieces I created for @illogicstudios for this wonderful animation project. (Main character designer @wiebkerauers ) @intermarche by @kian.kiani
