Everyone should strength train!

You can’t control the clowns in your life, but you can control whether your skeleton is strong enough to carry you away from them 💀💪🏻

Let’s build your strongest self together 💪🏻💓🏋️‍♀️

You are capable of reaching your goals & deserve to feel good in your body without crash diets, someone shaming you, and excessive exercise.

Fitness is meant to SUPPORT your life, not take away from it.

I help busy women prioritize their health, build routines that fit their schedules, and increase their strength AND confidence.

Stop starting over. Let’s create a sustainable routine that fits your lifestyle and lasts.

Talk about attention seeking

#nycpersonaltrainer #girlswholift by @kianna_darrow

I will always stand by the importance of strength training (especially for bone health).

But more importantly, I will stand by women doing exercise that they genuinely enjoy.

Guys, guys, guys it’s just a joke

#nycpersonaltrainer #snl #girlswholift by @kianna_darrow

“Oh my gosh, just take a joke.”

I love humor. I hate misogyny disguised as humor, and I hate when people use “it’s just a joke” as an excuse to say misogynistic things without being held accountable.

I don’t think it’s worth giving misogynistic men attention.

What I do care about is making women feel comfortable at the gym and reminding them that they are allowed to take up space.

I don’t want women to overthink their outfits. I don’t want women to change what they wear because they’re worried about being called whores, being objectified, or worse.

Calling women whores because of what they wear to the gym is connected to rape culture. It reinforces the same underlying idea behind “well, what was she wearing?” that a woman’s clothing says something about her character, her sexual availability, or how she deserves to be treated.

It doesn’t.

How a woman chooses to express herself through clothing does not determine her sexual history, her values, or her worth. And if a woman enjoys having sex, and it’s consensual and safe, who cares?

We shouldn’t hold women who enjoy their sexuality to a higher standard than we hold the people who violate someone else’s consent.

A woman’s outfit is not an invitation. Her body is not an invitation. And neither is an excuse to disrespect her.

I want women to walk into the gym thinking about getting stronger, hitting a PR, or learning something new…not wondering whether their shorts are too short or whether someone is going to make them the punchline of a misogynistic joke.

You deserve to feel comfortable in your body, confident in your clothes, and safe taking up space.

The gym is not a place where women should have to earn the right to feel comfortable. And I’ll keep saying that, joke or no joke.
