Final steps!

After the first pour and giving it time to cure, lightly sanded the surface so the next pour would adhere properly.

After everything set up, I met John over at @memphiswoodcompany to get the slab perfectly flattened.

Did this step before myself and it made a MESS last time - I was not for up it this go round so I was EXTRA happy when I found these folks. They were super easy to connect with, kind, and made sure I walked away with a flat slab. ✅

I noticed a few small holes in the slab from the flattening that I expected to happen. So, I’m using some quick set epoxy with gold pigment to fill in these last pockets before I start the final sand.

#ProjectMa

Ma (negative space)
Ma (間 , lit. ‘gap, space, pause’) is a Japanese concept of negative space

My client has a deep connection to Japanese culture and wanted this concept reflected in his epoxy pour.

I broke the pours in half. 1st layer is down and now cured! 💃🏽
