Saps que una llegenda atribueix el descobriment del vidre a uns mercaders que feien foc a la platja?L'historiador romà Plini el Vell explicava que uns mercaders transportaven natró (un mineral ric en sodi) en un vaixell. En desembarcar, van encendre un foc a la sorra i van utilitzar blocs de natró per sostenir les olles.L'endemà, entre les cendres, van descobrir un material brillant i transparent: el vidre.Avui sabem que la història probablement és més llegenda que realitat, però continua sent una de les narracions més boniques sobre l'origen d'un material que acompanya la humanitat des de fa mil·lennis.Foc. Sorra. I una mica de casualitat. A vegades, les grans descobertes comencen així.___¿Sabías que una leyenda atribuye el descubrimiento del vidrio a unos mercaderes que encendieron una hoguera en la playa?El historiador romano Plinio el Viejo contaba que unos comerciantes transportaban natrón (un mineral rico en sodio) en un barco. Al desembarcar, encendieron una hoguera sobre la arena y utilizaron bloques de natrón para sostener las ollas.A la mañana siguiente descubrieron entre las cenizas un material brillante y transparente: el vidrio.Hoy sabemos que la historia probablemente es más leyenda que realidad, pero sigue siendo uno de los relatos más bellos sobre el origen de un material que acompaña a la humanidad desde hace miles de años.Fuego. Photo by @mary__otanez 📸..Corals are amazing creatures. They photosynthesize by day and come out to feed at night. If unharmed, and ocean temperatures remain asequate, they can essentially survive indefinitely.
