We’re just about ONE WEEK from opening- and you’re in luck, because you’ll have all of March to have a chance to catch @kiarawade and the rest of the cast’s stunning performances! Get those tix before they’re gone- the link is in our bio 🎟️

Kiara Wade (she/her) is honored to be making her Off-Broadway debut in this incredible piece. A multidisciplinary creative alchemist and voice teacher, this proud Houston native is intent on infusing joy into everything she does. While dance was and continues to be her first love, Kiara graduated from NYU Steinhardt studying musical theatre, opera and pedagogy. With a unique passion for new work, Kiara has workshopped the new musical Pericles with the Public Theater and several other new plays at The Tank, NewYorkRep, The Shed and Theatre Row. Outside of rehearsals, you can probably find her smiling at a dog, playing with makeup on IG:@kiaraalon or rewatching Scandal or House Hunters. Other favorite credits to date include Macbeth (Macbeth), Carousel (Carrie Pipperidge) and featuring in Make Me A Song. Many thanks to God above all, Brandon and FSE. For Amber, Clarence & Minnie Pearl. IG: @kiarawade, TT: @itskiarawade.

Learning of William Finn’s passing yesterday really rocked me more than I anticipated. It’s interesting mourning someone you never had the privilege to meet but whose work has deeply impacted your life all the same. Immense respect to @jessbash for that introduction.

So naturally I had to feature his music somehow in my solo cabaret debut, The Healing Heroine. It’s imperfect and it’s real and I’m surprised I held them tears in! (Shoutout to the best husband in the world ❤️) These words hit even more deeply now; what an honor to look back and see how far you’ve come. I’m so proud of that girl.

It was an honor singing this cheeky little ditty to pay homage to some legendary Black women whose art lives close to my heart, Lena Horne and Ethel Waters, last month for #bhm and I figure what better time to post before wrapping up #WomensHistoryMonth. (Everyone say thank you to @jquaygibbs for bullying me into posting this video 🙃)

Throwback to a moment of joy, of ease, of overcoming, of being seen and loved in the middle of it. I’m proud of this one! I pray to curate more moments like this onstage. As always, shoutout to @pierlamiaporter and her brainchild the Make Them Hear You Series: An Ode to Black Musicals. I had a blast 🤎

I TRIPPED ON A BRANCH RIGHT AFTER RECORDING THIS SO YOU KNOW IT’S REAL

I really feel super strongly that this might be the thing you needed to see to get out of the rut that you’re in, the isolation you might be in, the fear you might be in, the anxiety, overwhelm and terror.

Sometimes you really just need to come out and see your people. And we’re your people, truly! So come on out and feel the vibes, the healing and the joy!
