Archie - son to Michelle, my stepson, Rocco’s brother, but most importantly, one special kitty cat. He loved everyone he met, and was loved by them in return. There is little consolation found when losing a pet, especially after doing everything possible to right his course, but he is free from the pain that overcame him. I will forever be grateful for the many memories he is part of and wanted to share a few of them. Love you Arch, see you on the other side. by @kibur

It’s been a month since my 2000 Honda CR-V was stolen.

I purchased the CR-V in late 2020 from my buddy Beech, who has since become a good pal. It had taken me a lot of places, both literally and metaphorically; multiple jobs, a stint in school, on and off-road adventures, and plenty of other journeys. Rocco also joined my life shortly after purchasing the CR-V, and it’s safe to say he loved it too.

In the two weeks following the theft of my CR-V, my dawg @hammsderzanden also had his EK hatch stolen. I was already bummed about being involuntarily removed from Hondin’ myself, but having it happen to Jeremy so quickly after was salt in the wound. We shared a lot of memories with both of those cars, and I cannot imagine the level of scumbaggery required to steal people’s beloved 200k+ mile daily drivers.

It sucks leaving for work and putting together the pieces that you no longer possess a vehicle that you truly cherished; a reliable workhorse that helped facilitate a lot of improvements in my life over the past five years. If there is one take away from this situation, it is that I encourage anyone reading this to please research and equip your vehicle with anti-theft provisions far beyond factory alarms/locks so you don’t end up in this scenario. This was an awful ending to a great little vehicle. by @kibur

This past Monday marked four years since Rocco’s “gotcha day”. During this past year, we had lots of adventures; hangs with friends, meeting Santa for photos, an Eagles Super Bowl victory, going to DC, and of course, plenty of trips in the car and treats. We also found out that he is 0% pug (DNA results on the last slide) and that his estimated birthday is February 9th, 2020. Summer 2023 is a wrap. It’s wild to think how it flew by, and it was hard condensing these few months into a post. as always, I’m grateful for the pals, both old and new, for being part of these memories taken in Summer 2023 Yeah by @kibur

At the end of summer 2018, I sold my 4WD Honda Civic Wagon, a vehicle that was near and dear to me. I sold it in attempt to get away from having a daily driver that was also a project, and shortly thereafter purchased an automatic 1995 Toyota Camry - widely regarded as the pinnacle of automotive reliability. Unfortunately, such was not the case for myself, as it blew its headgasket about a month into my ownership.

I was without a vehicle and needing a daily driver, and it just so happened that at this time, my buddy Moses (@mheberlein) was trying to sell his 2WD 1988 Chevrolet C1500. Though I’d never owned a truck, I figured a truck with a Chevy 350 and a manual transmission would at the least make a practical and reliable daily driver. And I did exactly that - I daily drove this truck from late 2018 until late 2020, when I purchased the CR-V, and the truck became a solid backup vehicle that never failed in that duty either.

In April, Moses put the bug in my ear about finally lowering the truck. I spoke with my pal @nickmerronesucks at @797_performance about ordering a Belltech 5/7 lowering kit and some Bilstein shocks. Nick hooked it up with some fantastic prices on the parts and I cannot speak highly enough about my experience working with him and 797.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Moses, myself and some friends began taking apart the truck and installing the kit. By the following weekend, we got the bed back on and enjoyed a test drive. From there, the good homie Ken (@kendocustoms) helped me align the truck, get the a/c bumping nice and cold, adjust the brakes, and button up some other small things.

Though I’ve hit some snags along the way (my success is 0/2 on wheel setups for this), I’m still really happy with how this truck is turning out. I’ve racked up a good bit of miles on it and it’s truly a blast to drive. I’m glad to have given love to such a deserving truck and had a great time with friends while doing so. by @kibur

Slightly late on my cliche reflective 2022 photo dump, but oh well. This year had quite its fair share of adversity, but looking back, it was an improvement compared to the years preceding it, though it didn't always feel that way when I was in the thick of things.

I'm grateful for the experiences I enjoyed with friends and loved ones, as well as the memories that came with it - great hangs, tons of awesome music releases and shows (who’d have guessed Algernon Cadwallader would rip some gigs?), plenty of progress on my stable of vehicles and so much more. today marks one year of @michelle_kwiecien and I having Rocco in our lives. I could speak endlessly on him and how much he means to the both of us, he is truly the sweetest little guy and I will never wrap my head around the fact someone left him out on the streets. here’s to many more adventures and memories with my best buddy in the world. taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @kibur

as fall 2019 came to a close, I parked the Cressida and the E28 for the winter. both needed repairs, and I figured I’d get to them the following spring. of course, everyone knows what happened in spring 2020 - the entire world changed, all of our lives changed, and suddenly this hobby I loved wasn’t viable while I tried to figure out how to get by. new cars were unobtainable due to supply chain shortages, reasonably priced used cars went through the roof due to that, and the cars I always loved became commodified by collectors who are more interested in attention or profiting than actual enjoyment.

one day last summer I was chatting with my friend @bones.parts.innovation about why it was approaching 2+ years without driving my cars. I was quite honest - I told him I’d lost motivation, especially with the circumstances of the times. I had the Cressida towed up to him in Connecticut and he troubleshot some issues for me while also going through changes in his own life.

this past thursday, my pal @mheberlein gave me a ride to Connecticut to pick up the Cressida while he was on his way to visit family. I met up with plenty of friends at @otacoflavoredkeeses’ house that night, and we spent friday doing some minor troubleshooting and then kickin’ it at night. that saturday morning, Matt and I took the car out for a shakedown run, and it felt great. we grabbed breakfast and then I parted ways to @bennkishh’s house in New Jersey. though it began raining during the tail end of the trip, I made it to Ben’s without issue. the rain did not let up that evening, so I ended up staying there, which allowed us to peruse the Golden Nugget flea market in the morning and do some cruising after.

it was such a treat to rack up some miles in my beloved Cressida for the first time in over 2 years. much like myself, this car is a work in progress filled with lots of trial and error, and I am endlessly grateful for the friends of mine who help me see it all through. taken in Stratford, Connecticut by @kibur
