“Doctors didn’t expect me to live beyond the age of five.”•Today, Johnny is helping young people through KICK and has represented England at the Transplant Football World Cup.•Born with the rare condition Prune Belly syndrome, Johnny grew up loving football, but at just 16 his kidneys began to fail. After years of battling ill health, he received a life-saving kidney transplant in 2021 through a paired organ donation scheme.•That transplant didn’t just save his life - it gave him another chance to pursue the game he loves.Since then, Johnny has represented England at the Transplant Football World Cup and helped the team become European Champions in 2025.•We’re incredibly grateful to have Johnny as part of the KICK team, where he now uses his story to encourage and inspire the young people we work with every day. His journey is a powerful reminder that hope can grow even through life’s greatest challenges.•🎧 Johnny recently shared his remarkable story in a BBC Radio interview. Here are our highlights from the KICK Annual Tournament! ⚽️🙌•38 teams. Over 300 children and young people. One incredible day of football, community and faith.•From the group stages to the knockout rounds, it was brilliant to see so many young people enjoying the beautiful game.
