This post is long overdue, but after a couple of weeks to sit with it, we’re still thinking about our time at World of Coffee.

Getting to finally meet so many of the people we’ve worked with and the ones behind the coffees we roast meant more than we probably said in the moment. There’s something special about putting faces to names, shaking hands with producers, and realizing how many people care just as deeply about this craft as we do.

What stood out most wasn’t just the coffee, even though there was plenty to geek out over. It was the openness of everyone there. People sharing ideas, supporting each other, and genuinely wanting to see one another succeed, even those you’d technically call “competition.”

It’s easy to forget sometimes, working day to day, how collaborative and human this industry really is. This week was a reminder of why we love being a part of it.

Grateful for the conversations, the connections, and the people behind it all.

Thank you to all of you!

Until next time.

In collaboration with Fellow, we will be offering a free public tasting on 2/1 from 11am-1pm. Come join us and learn about our coffees and meet the owner!

We decided to do something fun and interactive so we’ll be brewing some coffees that we’ve sample roasted from @forestgreencoffee, @knowwherecoffee and @unblendedcoffee so YOU can help us decide which coffees to add to our lineup next by giving your feedback.

We will also be debuting our Typica Mejorado in the store by @sergioarandagomez from @fincaanaya which will be available for sale and to sample.

We hope to see you there! taken in Abbot Kinney, Venice by @kickbackcoffeeroasters

After a long holiday break and time to reflect, we are grateful to be back and roasting great coffee for all our awesome customers.

This Typica Mejorado from @sergioarandagomez at @fincaanaya is easily one of our favorite washed coffees we’ve ever had the pleasure of roasting. It quite literally tastes like green apple candy with a bright and juicy sweetness and just the right amount of tart acidity.

We are so excited to bring this one to you and hope you like it as much as we do!! by @kickbackcoffeeroasters

You don’t have to be in Los Angeles at the @fellowproducts store to get our SL28 Natural. Order online at kickbackroasters.com and have it shipped right to your door step!

This coffee is super complex and you won’t want to miss it. Edinson and Angela have once again knocked it out of the park. This coffee took first at the U.S. brewers cup by @adjust.bull from @helmcoffeeroasters and also 2nd place at the Italian barista championship.

It’s already moving fast, so don’t miss the chance to try it! taken in Abbot Kinney, Venice by @kickbackcoffeeroasters

We’re so excited to announce that the Bourbon Sidra Thermalshock Washed from Edinson Argote and Angela Rojas is back! This coffee was a huge hit last time around. With rose florality, lychee and tropical fruit notes this is definitely one of the more complex and interesting coffees we’ve ever had.

We’re also so pumped to announce that this coffee will be featured in @fellowproducts Los Angeles in September.

We have extremely limited quantity so get it before it’s gone! taken in Venice, California by @kickbackcoffeeroasters

These past few days have been heavy in LA. Like many of you, we’ve been sitting with it all, listening, and reflecting.

At the same time, we’re incredibly grateful to share a small piece of good news: Kickback is officially on the shelves at @thecanalmarket — right here in our own backyard at the Venice Canals.

If you happen to be in the area, we’d love your support. And if not, please keep taking care of yourselves and one another.

With love,

We’re so stoked to introduce these new coffees that just arrived from Edinson Argote in Colombia. This is our first coffee that we sourced directly with a farm.

Thank you so much to Angela and @argote2015 at @quebraditascoffeefarm for working with us and allowing us to bring these amazing coffees to our community.

We were blown away by the flavors of these coffees while we were cupping them and we hope you are too! taken in Venice, California by @kickbackcoffeeroasters
