New routines in familiar places.

With winter (finally) settling into the Canadian Rockies it has been fun getting back to my very first athletic love. I grew up in these mountains - my parents half joke that I was on skis before I could walk. I think that is the Austrian in me. But something far from a nostalgic memory, a quiet morning stop on the way to the ski hill at the recently renovated @kickinghorsecafe along the way. My personal favourite - a vanilla Canadiano. As a lover of all things coffee and design. This space provides the best of both worlds. With locally sourced cedar paneling creating a warm, cozy space for a solitary moment with your coffee, a comfortable place to work on your business or a safe space for conversations between friends. A new addition to a life long love. - Andrea

Three years of Kicking Horse Café 🖤

And somehow, every year, we’re still blown away by the people who make their way through our doors.

To our locals who have made us part of their routine, the familiar faces we get to see week after week, and the people who come from a whole lot farther away. We hear from so many of you who add us to your road trips, make the detour through Invermere, or quite literally plan part of your vacation around coming to see us. We don’t take that lightly. It’s incredibly cool to know this little Café in the mountains has become a place you look forward to visiting.

Three years in, we’re just really grateful. Grateful for every coffee, every conversation, every busy weekend, every familiar face, and every person who has helped make this place what it is.

And of course, a whole lot of love for the crew behind it all. 🖤

Effective Tuesday, August 25th☕️

What a summer it’s been!

As another busy summer season starts to wind down, we’re saying goodbye to some of our amazing summer crew and feeling pretty grateful for all the memories, connections and cups of coffee shared along the way.

With the change of season comes a change in our hours! Starting Tuesday, August 25th, the Café will be open Thursday–Monday from 8AM–3PM, and closed Tuesdays + Wednesdays.

A huge thank you to our team and everyone who stopped by, waited in line, brought friends, shared a table and made the Café part of their summer.

Until then, you can still find us here 7AM–4PM every day through Monday, August 24!

We’re back. ☕🤍

After a challenging few days, we’re happy to be back serving our community.

Thank you to our incredible team for everything they did behind the scenes, and thank you to everyone in the Valley for your patience, kindness, and support.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the firefighters, first responders, BC Hydro crews, and everyone who worked tirelessly to keep our communities safe and restore essential services.

As a small thank you, we’d like to extend a beverage discount to first responders and BC Hydro crews for the remainder of the summer. Simply present your valid work ID when you visit.
