Next judge for our Open Style battle. Milwaukee’s own @kickinitwithced Cedric Gardner! It’s going down this Saturday Oct 3rd downtown Milwaukee, WI at 3rd St Market from 3-7pm! Free! Open to everyone.

Rivers Run Deep 2 is a look into the Southeast Asian refugee experience through different generations and how hip-hop/breaking changed their lives.
There will be a panel discussion, followed up by a 1v1 Breaking and Open style battle.

Cedric Gardner is an accomplished choreographer, movement designer, and arts educator with over two decades of experience bridging Hollywood commercial standards with elite youth development. A former Top 20 finalist on FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, Cedric’s creative footprint spans major television productions, feature films, national commercials, and professional sports entertainment.

His choreography and performance credits include FOX’s Empire (Assistant Choreographer), American Idol, ABC’s Will Trent, NBC’s The Voice, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Nickelodeon’s Yo Gabba Gabba!, and blockbuster films including Step Up 3D and Dance Flick. In professional sports, Cedric served as the coach for the Milwaukee Bucks Young Bucks dance team and as a creative consultant for Bucks Entertainment.

A three-time Monsters Dance National Champion Choreographer, Cedric spent nearly a decade leading the nationally recognized Davis Dancers and directing youth arts initiatives in Milwaukee. His pedagogical framework is deeply rooted in authentic street styles, improvisation, and movement design—training dancers to master technical execution while cultivating their own distinct artistic voice. Cedric’s contributions to arts education have been recognized with the 2024 Milwaukee Chamber Theatre Legacy Award, the 2023 Wisconsin Dance Council Choreography & Performance Award, and the Monsters Alan Funk Award.

I am absolutely thrilled to share the incredible achievements of the Davis Dancers and Alumni, Davien, and Kennedy! They've earned 5 scholarships at Monsters Dance Convention, a testament to their passion and dedication. Congratulations to Davien and Jetziel for their nominations for the prestigious Monsters of Dance Show Finale—hard work truly pays off!

Thank you, @afunkofficial and @becky_funk, for creating a dance convention that feels like home for so many of us. Congratulations on twenty years of success, and heres to many more!

I'm definitely excited for tonight. You can catch me and some of the other talented dancers on tonight's episode of ABC's Will Trent. It's the season finale. Man, this job was so much fun. Thank you, Lance and Danielle.

When the music calls you must move your feet! Thanks, @rememberhans. You had us moving bro.

@bravemonk you kept that joint live!

I had a great time at Windy City Throwdown by @rhythmhood and @snipes_usa. Thank Jason Kim ( @by_kisoo ) for the invite.

Congrats to midwest legend @pausegonkill on your win. Well deserved 👏

I was beyond inspired by all of the dancers who competed. So much soul, athleticism, control, and beautiful movement.

Looking forward to the next one.
