Spooky season is here, and I’ve been busy making the 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘 kid-friendly Halloween Guide! 🎃 👻 🧟 🦇 🧛‍♀️ 👹

The roundup details 𝟲𝟮 kid-friendly Halloween attractions, home displays and events in the Portland Metro Area, 48 of which are either 𝗧𝗢𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 or offer a free and ticketed options!

Although I tried not to include anything too scary, there are some activities that cater more toward an older crowd, as well as activities for the littlest ghouls and goblins. I was also mindful about making sure there’s activities in all parts of the Portland area, so no matter what part of town you live in there’s bound to be something in this guide that’s close to home.

The Kid-Friendly PDX Newsletter gives you all the info you need about each activity, including a link to the experience, date and time, price of admission (if there is one), and a brief description of what to expect. I also created an interactive map that is color-coded so you can easily visualize each location and decipher between each activity type. 🙌

Pumpkin patch season is right around the corner, and I’ve been busy making the 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘 Portland area guide! 🎃

The roundup details 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 pumpkin patch and harvest festival within 25 miles of Portland. While conducting research, I found 32 — 20 of which offer 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗬! Some of these offer lots of activities for a fun-filled family day and others are relaxed and low-sensory for families wanting a more classic pumpkin patch experience without the stimulation.

The Kid-Friendly PDX Newsletter gives you all the info you need about each farm, including pumpkin patch and harvest festival dates, hours, admission cost, activities offered, and whether or not it’s dog-friendly. PPS has announced they may close up to 14 schools with many other impacts. It's scary and worrisome but thankfully, we can get educated and plugged in!

🎟️ Farm entry is free. Corn maze: $12/adult; $8/child (ages 3–11); Dual maze: $18/adult; $12/child (ages 3-11). Ages 2 and younger are free

We love a good free entry pumpkin patch and @yesteryearfarmswilsonville is one of the best because in addition to free entry, they also serve complimentary apple cider (hot or cold) and popcorn!

There are ticketed corn mazes on the farm (two big themed ones and a kids maze); however, there are several free activities too like hay bales and slides, farm animals, character appearances, and tons of photo ops.

Yesteryear also has a great farm store and a good variety of pumpkins to choose from.

🪦 Carriage Way Cemetery 🪦

📍 1810 Carriage Way, West Linn, OR 97068 📆 Nightly 6-9pm through October 31

This West Linn home has transformed into @carriagewaycemetery every October since 2007. The owner, who refers to himself as “The Caretaker,” makes most of the props by hand - and they are CREEPY!

The intricate display features a small haunted trail, lights, music, and smartphone enabled attractions including a scavenger hunt. (Keep in mind, the scavenger hunt is best done in daylight, so plan accordingly.)

There are 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 houses in the Portland area that go above and beyond during spooky season. I published a Halloween guide in the Kid-Friendly PDX Newsletter that features 63 different activities, including 17 of the best home haunts and displays.

[gifted] Burgers are one of the few foods both my kids will 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 happily eat, so we were excited to hear @yinyangburgerpdx opened at @corepdx!

They don’t have a kids menu but will happily customize a burger for your kiddo (in our case it was a smash burger with cheese and ketchup). The menu consists of three burgers, including a vegan option, and a rotating seasonal special. I ordered a veggie burger and was really impressed with how thick and juicy the patty was.

Also, the Aura Fries are a MUST 👏 ORDER 👏 I love a good sidewinder fry and these are seasoned perfectly. (Order with ranch and thank me later.)

CORE is a great food cart pod and Yin Yang Burger is a great addition!
