Don’t F*ck With my River (2026)

Inspired by the story “La Llorona” and the concept of “Río Abajo Río” or “the river beneath the river” that I happened upon in Clarissa Pinkola Estés well known book “Women Who Run With the Wolves”.

In these stories, creativity & the creative lives of women are likened to a river. When the river is blocked or polluted, our creative lives are blocked and polluted. But the river is always churning, always flowing, and waiting for us to clear the waters, to break any damns or obstacles that prevent its flow.

In my own attempts to clear my river, I decided to paint a river “guardian” of sorts, a mythological creature in my own style who guards my creative life and confronts any unwelcome visitors. This painting is my way of clearing any creative blocks and personifying the inner force that protects and nourishes my deeply creative life. DONT FCK WITH MY RIVER!!!!

My Cup Overflows (2026) 🌴🍵

Inspired by my favorite bible verse from when I was a kid haha. I had to memorize psalm 23 and even though I left the church, it still brings me so much comfort, makes me grateful I grew up in a faith. This painting is part of a series of works I am creating exploring the concept of “paradise”. More coming soon taken in Queens, New York by @kidcarol
