Figuring it out as we go…

Detroit houses were built different, and a lot of those big brick colonials and multi-family homes still depend on boiler heat. 🔥

When a steam boiler is installed and piped correctly, it provides the kind of steady, comfortable heat these older homes were designed for. But replacing one isn’t just about swapping out the equipment. The near-boiler piping, venting, water feeder, controls and final testing all matter.

We took our time with this installation because clean workmanship and attention to detail make a difference in how the system performs.

With over 10 years of hands-on HVAC experience, we understand Detroit homes and the heating systems inside them.

If your boiler is leaking, banging, heating unevenly or simply getting old, let’s take a look before the real cold weather hits.

Heating season is here, and choosing a furnace should be about more than finding the cheapest price.

After more than 10 years in HVAC, I’ve learned that the real value is in dependable equipment, a quality installation, and protection after the job is finished. That’s one of the main reasons Kidd Mechanical Services is proud to partner with Coleman.

Select Coleman furnace systems come with a 10-year parts warranty and a 10-year labor warranty for qualifying homeowners. That means you’re not only investing in comfort and efficiency—you’re protecting yourself from unexpected repair costs for years to come.

If you’re planning to stay in your home and want a system built for long-term value, Coleman is worth considering.

Call Kidd Mechanical Services to schedule your furnace estimate and learn about available financing options.

If you’re a DTE natural gas customer, this is a good time to get your furnace checked before winter.

DTE’s usual furnace tune-up rebate is $75. For qualifying diagnostic tune-ups completed September 1 through November 15, 2026, the rebate increases to up to $150. The visit must include combustion analysis and be performed by a DTE participating contractor.

DTE requires the contractor to submit the application within 20 days of service. Promotional applications must reach the program by December 31, 2026. Funds are limited and available first come, first served.

Check your eligibility and confirm the contractor participates before booking. You can find a participating contractor through DTE’s website or call 866-796-0512. by @kiddmechanicalservices
