🪶I AM THAT I AM.Freedom. Liberation. Love.❤️🧡💚🖤As a descendant of Freedmen pioneers/settlers (Bear Creek now Irving Texas), Juneteenth has always held a sacred place in my heart. Long before it was recognized as a national holiday, I was marching, celebrating, organizing, and creating spaces that honored the spirit of freedom.Today, I'm grateful to witness Juneteenth celebrations spreading across the nation, reminding us that freedom is not just a historical moment, it is a living practice.I honor my ancestors by continuing their legacy through advocacy, community building, healing, art, and collective liberation. Every poem, every gathering, every conversation is an opportunity to move closer to a world where all people can live freely, fully, and authentically.That is why Freedom Fest @freedomfestdfw was created.Freedom Fest continues the mission of celebrating our stories, uplifting our communities, and creating pathways toward freedom, liberation, and love for generations to come.May we never forget those who came before us.May we honor those fighting today.May we continue building a future worthy of our ancestors' dreams.
