Camp Barnes '26 🏕

I am very thankful for the opportunity to work at this amazing summer camp with Delaware State Police this summer. So many wonderful memories were made and I am proud to have been able to lead these children through a summer of fun with help from my great team of counselors. UDance 2026: 20 Years of UDance 🎗️

This was my first UDance, but certainly will not be my last. Hundreds of selfless students with a passion to serve others come together for one common cause - fight childhood cancer. I have met so many wonderful people through this organization, and have gained invaluable lessons and perspectives. This organization is incredible. UDᴀB x Cape Fear 2026 🛠

Over spring break, I volunteered with University of Delaware Alternative Breaks on a service program to Wilmington, North Carolina, where we partnered with Habitat for Humanity to battle housing insecurity.

I'm so honored to have experienced this week of service with all of the hardworking & selfless participants. I can say honestly that this week has changed me forever and will greatly impact how I view others, how I view the world, and how I will give back and serve the community around me.

In just a few days, I formed strong bonds with both my fellow participants, as well as the volunteers working with Habitat for Humanity. The participants and site leads quickly became like family, and the volunteers became my mentors. Each person came from a different background and carries their own burdens, but these differences were set aside to form a mutually beneficial environment of service and helping others. Witnessing the overwhelming amount of humility and love that flows through this community brought me and many others to tears.

This opportunity has shaped me in ways I am still discovering. The personal and relational growth I gained this week is invaluable, and I will carry the lessons I learned forever. I am beyond grateful to UDᴀB for offering this amazing program, and I am so proud and thankful for every person who gave up their break to serve this community.

This program would not have been the same without every individual seeking to make a difference in this way. If you looking for more ways to volunteer or serve, this is your sign.

UDaB Puerto Rico '26 🩵🇵🇷

I can't begin to explain just how life-changing this program was for me. Part of my heart belongs in Puerto Rico. This amazing group of selfless people have taught me so much about myself and others, and for that I am forever grateful. From serving local communities in need, swimming in the ocean, getting trapped in the rain, and everything in between - I don't regret one second of it. Spending the entire week with a team of mostly strangers was intimidating, but quickly became my new normal.

From early mornings to late nights, this group sought to make a difference. Picking up trash on the beach, painting signs, scraping fences, and cutting down invasive plants are just some of the works we completed together. We quickly learned each other's work ethics, as well as personalities, and became so, so close.

I am so grateful for the opportunity that @udabreaks gave me to immerse myself in a new culture and spend a week serving others within this community. I grew so much as a person, and can't begin to describe all that I learned about this breathtaking place. I am eternally thankful for every beautiful soul I met on this program.
