✨MY BOOK IS OUT TODAYY ✨I enjoyed writing this book much more than I found it hard and I hope you can feel that in the pages. It’s a project from my heart which took me to retracing my own histories of home + a life lived between the cracks of a historic crisis but also took me to shipping containers and mould labs and sound baths and special collection archives and I learned so much about plants and interiors and music culture birthed by architecture and the aesthetics of gentrification and taste policing…I feel so grateful for the opportunity to report and explore things I wanted and to be able to share it with the world so thank u to everyone who has bought it already + hope it’s a valuable contribution to the conversation around housing, how it impacts every part of how we live and how we must make home a right for everyone ✨✨✨ by @kierany8s

Wrote about two cookbooks for @itsnicethat that I really like: Depression Cooking; ‘Feeding yourself when it all feels too hard’ by @sonaleeeeeee and ‘misery meals: a crip community anti-cookbook for when eating and cooking is hard’, by @uglyinahotway who both explore food culture from diff sides of the earth and ask crucial questions about who’s left out and how we use language etc I recommend reading them both!!! also they’re cool and fun and thank fuck for illustrations (link in bio) by @kierany8s

Happy to be discussing Orwell 85 years on at the @southbankcentre london literature festival as we navigate the myths the nation-state tells itself, and a political reality that is so often described as Orwellian, though we are way past that (and into something more sinister) v fun to be sharing space with @cocobyname @zzzakia @trillingual and ofc @nikeshshuklawriter I find clever thinking around times rife with confusion soothing know what I mean by @kierany8s
