Excuse my scruff, but… I’m genuinely grateful.

Not because everything is perfect. Not because I have everything I want. But because when I really sit back and look at my life, I realize there’s still so much to be thankful for.

I’m grateful for the people who love me. Grateful for the lessons. Grateful for the doors that opened and even the ones that closed. Grateful for another day to get it right.

Sometimes we get so focused on what we’re waiting on that we forget to appreciate what God has already given us.

So yeah… excuse the scruff 😂

I’ve learned that being real doesn’t mean telling the internet everything.

It means knowing what to share, what to protect, and what to handle privately.

I can be honest without explaining every detail. I can acknowledge that I’m going through something without making it public. I can be grateful, happy, faithful, and still have a lot on my mind.

Both can be true.

Some battles deserve privacy. Some things belong between people, in prayer, or simply need time. Protecting my privacy doesn’t make me fake, and protecting someone else’s doesn’t make me dishonest.

If I seem quieter or move differently, just know I’m not becoming someone else. I’m becoming more of myself.

I’m still creating, building, making music, showing up for my son, loving my people, and working on becoming a better father, man, friend, artist, leader, and version of Leif.

I’m still human. Still evolving. Still figuring things out. Still Kiing VII.

And eventually, it’ll all make sense.

The documentary is coming, and it’s gonna tell everything. 🎥👑

Until then, just know I’m real enough to have boundaries.

Everybody wants the opportunity. The platform. The relationship. The blessing. The seat at the table. The recognition.

But what happens when the opportunity actually requires something from you?

Because being chosen sounds good until being chosen means you have to answer the call.

You can’t keep praying for elevation while avoiding the responsibility that comes with it. You can’t ask God to open the door and then get nervous when He tells you to walk through it. You can’t say you’re ready for more while still protecting the version of you that was built for less.

And sometimes the call doesn’t come in the form you expected.

Sometimes it’s uncomfortable.
Sometimes it exposes you.
Sometimes it requires you to move before you feel ready.
Sometimes it requires you to stop waiting for somebody else to validate what God already put in you.

Being chosen isn’t just about being noticed.

It’s about being available.

So if you’ve been asking for the opportunity, the breakthrough, the assignment, the next level…

Make sure you’re actually ready to answer when your name gets called.

Because eventually, the question stops being “Why haven’t they chosen me?”

And becomes:

“What have I been doing to prepare for the call?”

At some point you gotta stop asking God to change what He already gave you the authority to put your hands on.

That hit me hard.

Because I can’t keep saying I believe there ain’t no way my life stays the same, then keep moving like I’m waiting on somebody to come save me from it.

Faith ain’t passive.

If I really believe what I’ve been praying, then my habits gotta start agreeing with it. My work gotta agree. My discipline gotta agree. My decisions gotta agree.

I’m not saying I gotta know every step.

I’m saying I know enough to take the next one.

So I’m done sitting around waiting to feel ready. Done waiting on perfect conditions. Done confusing patience with inactivity.

God gave me too much to move scared with it.

There ain’t no way I’m staying here.

And I’m moving like I mean that now.

Pressure will introduce you to what you actually believe.

It’s easy to say you trust God when everything is moving.
When the money is right.
When people are showing up.
When the doors are opening.
When the plan makes sense.

But what happens when none of that is happening?

That’s when faith stops being something you talk about and becomes something you have to live.

I’ve had moments where what I could see was completely different from what I believed God showed me.

And that gap will mess with you if you let it.

Because eventually the question becomes:

Are you going to let your circumstances tell you who you are, or are you going to remember what God said before the circumstances changed?

I’m learning not to make permanent conclusions in temporary seasons.

Everything might not look right yet.

I might not have every answer yet.

But I’ve seen God come through too many times to suddenly decide He stopped being God because this chapter got uncomfortable.

So nah.

I’m not shrinking.
I’m not abandoning the vision.
I’m not letting pressure rewrite my faith.

And I’m definitely not quitting before I see what God was doing with all of this.

Ain’t No Way.

Faith don’t always look like confidence. Sometimes it looks like sitting in the parking lot at 5:30 in the morning trying to convince yourself just to get out the car.

That was me.

Tired. Rubbing my eyes. Not motivated. Not excited. No big spiritual moment. I just knew I needed to be there.

And I think that’s the part of faith we don’t talk about enough.

We love talking about believing God is going to do something big. Doors opening. Purpose. Favor. Breakthrough. Elevation.

But what does believing Him look like while you’re waiting?

Sometimes it looks like getting out the car.

Sometimes it looks like showing up when your circumstances haven’t changed yet. Doing the work while you’re still tired, frustrated, uncertain, and trying to figure out how everything is going to come together.

Because expecting God to move doesn’t mean I get to stop moving.

I can pray for strength and still have to lift the weight.
I can pray for opportunity and still have to prepare for it.
I can believe something is coming and still have mornings where I don’t feel like doing a ***** thing!!!

That doesn’t make the faith fake. That’s where the faith gets tested.

Anybody can believe when the evidence is already sitting in front of them.

It takes something different to keep building when the results haven’t caught up to the vision yet. To keep getting up when life has given you plenty of reasons to stay down.

Sometimes adversity is 5:30 AM.
Sometimes it’s exhaustion.
Sometimes it’s disappointment.
Sometimes it’s that voice telling you, “You can miss today.”

And sometimes the victory is simply answering:

Ain’t no way.

Ain’t no way I came this far to fold here.
Ain’t no way I asked God for more just to run from what more requires.
Ain’t no way my feelings get the final vote on my future.

I still expect God to show up.

I just understand now that faith means I better show up too.

Everybody you love ain’t supposed to be close to you.

I had to learn that history doesn’t equal trust, forgiveness doesn’t restore access, and love doesn’t automatically qualify somebody to speak into what God is building in your life.

I can love you and still love you from over there.
