Over the past two days we were invited by @womeninclimatetanzania for pre- cop training “From Participation to Structured Influence” and it was a great moment for us to learn about climate policies and stand of our government in climate discussions. And we are ready to use what we learned to influence climate discussions concerning agriculture and food security in area of climate adaptation and loss and damage conversations.

Our last takeaway from COP 12 is how we build organizational models that create sustainable impact and empower communities beyond short-term projects.

As Kijana Na Shamba @kijananashamba , we truly thank you for the opportunity to represent our communities, learn from different people, and build networks. We cannot wait to put what we have learned into action.

Thank you!

Who you serve matters! This is another point we noted and deeply connected with the work and mission we are carrying out here at @kijananashamba.

You cannot do community work without having the community’s voice at the centre of your work. There is power in communities’ voices, and it is time to ensure they are part of the mission we want to create. Make them engaged, help them understand the activities you are carrying out, and provide reports to them after completing the work so that they can be part of it. This is how we create sustainable communities.

As we review our notes and plan for the implementation of the great conversations we had at COP 12, this is one of the first and most important notes we took: There is a problem with language barriers between conversations about carbon accounting (blue carbon) and the community.

There is a lot to do, but we need a coalition of organizations and partners to ensure that communities understand the opportunities available around carbon credits.

Do you have any views about this? You are welcome to send us a DM or comment below so we can hear your voice on this.

🇹🇿 Happy Nyerere Day 2026! Today, we honour Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere’s legacy of self-reliance, equality, and collective responsibility in building our nation.

At Kijana na Shamba @kijananashamba , we carry these values forward by empowering young people and farmers through sustainable agriculture, value addition, and rural entrepreneurship. We believe that investing in our farmers and youth is investing in Tanzania’s economic future. 🌱

We are starting to document the work. 🌱 #LIMANAKNS

As a young NGO working in agriculture, gender equality, and community development, much of our journey began through our founding partner @kijanafactory , supporting farmers and communities with little or no external funding.

Through the RWVL-T Project supported by the Global Affairs Canada and implemented through strategic partners including @cusointernational @womenfund_tz and @msichanainitiative , we learned an important lesson: document your work. The work may start from passion, but documenting it helps make community voices visible, demonstrate impact, and connect with partners who can support the journey.

We will now share stories of the farmers, groups, and communities we have been working with—and invite partners passionate about agriculture development to join us.

Real Stories. Real Farmers. Greater Impact. 🌱

Kijana Na Shamba | DATA. VALUE. GROWTH. by @kijananashamba

TUKO SHAMBA | LIMA NA KNS

When we started Kijana Na Shamba (KNS), we had a clear vision: to make agriculture a professional, rewarding, and opportunity-driven career.
We believe that agriculture is more than farming — it is a pathway to skills, innovation, entrepreneurship, income, and meaningful careers.

Through KNS, we aim to empower more women and youth with practical agricultural skills and greater access to opportunities, tools, knowledge, networks, and resources that can help them grow.

🌱 With a big vision and many programs ahead, we are grateful to our Board Members for their continuous guidance and valuable advice, which continues to help us grow and move closer to fulfilling our mission.
As part of our “TUKO SHAMBA” campaign, we are excited to introduce:

LIMA NA KNS
A program designed to support the growth of agricultural skills among youth and women.
We are building a community where young people and women can learn, practice, connect, create, and grow through agriculture.

And to every partner, organization, farmer, professional, supporter, and individual interested in supporting our campaign, programs, and activities — thank you. 🤝🌱

The journey has started.
TUKO SHAMBA. 🌾
